Buckinghamshire Railway Centre

My husband and I had our wedding here, we couldn't have chosen a better place for it - the vintage surroundings are so romantic, it truly gives a unique experience for everyone, and of course we had to opt for the steam train giving rides for our guests all afternoon! Everybody who attended loved the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, we really give this one a huge recommendation for a wedding venue to remember.

We went for the Christmas panto train. It was very well organised and all of the staff were amazing. The train trip, meeting Santa and meeting Mrs Claus was great fun. It was all done very well. The panto in the station was very well done as well. It is expensive, but well worth the price. Recommended.

The best experience for myself and my children. Really worth the money for whats included. We visited on the weekend, for the Xmas panto express experience. From start to finish it was so magical. The pantomime was so good!! Really good laughable moments. Really wasn't expecting it to be so so good. Will now be making this our yearly trip for Xmas. Defo a must do for little ones. My only negative which I really hate to say but I have to be honest was going back and fourth on the steam train, it would have been a nicer touch if the train went around a circuit . But this is probably due to the tracks obv not being there anymore. The children in our carriage plus my older children got a bit fed up, until it was there turn to see santa. Other than that MASSIVE MASSIVE props to the place. Can't fault a wonderful experience. Definitely stored in my children's core memory!!! Thank you to everyone there who made it just so so special!

We went to the Panto Express event for the first time and I have to say it was really lovely! The staff put in a lot of effort to make the experience a magical one. The panto was really funny well enjoyed by the whole family a lot of laughs. The train is a lovely old fashioned carriage, great experience. Father Christmas came to visit us and gave the children a golden ticket to exchange for a present in the workshop. I really liked this concept so the children can choose. The workshop was well stocked with decent gifts. The elevator to the North Pole was wonderful! And then meeting Mrs Claus was a lovely experience and the Elves all around were really lovely and engaging kept the children entertained. I would say the only thing was there was a long wait to get to the workshop after getting off the train. The children did get a little restless but there were Elves around and a TV showing a movie to break it up a bit. The cafe on site was also lovely and served nice food at reasonable prices. Overall a lovely Christmas experience and also one that didn't break the bank which was much appreciated when most others can cost so much.

Took the grandkids on the panto special. The panto was limited due to times but the actors involved did a great job considering. There was something in it for young and old which was good. We then got to ride up and down the short track a few times. Fortunately, the carriages had great heating. Santa's elves came round, followed by Santa who gave each child a golden ticket (a nice little keepsake btw). We then had to traipse over to the museum where the children were given pencil and paper to mark off all the naughty elves they could see in amongst the exhibits. Unfortunately, there was rather a long wait as we queued for the magic elevator (the children loved this) which took us to see Mrs Claus where the children could choose a gift. Then we had the long walk back. I was disappointed that the car park was almost full, there didn't seem to be any spaces reserved for disabled parking, not helped by inconsiderate drivers leaving massive gaps. For me, this was the downside as it meant a long walk to get into the building and an even longer walk getting back from the museum on top of the walking around the museum and the long wait for the magic elevator. But the children enjoyed themselves, which is the main thing.

We attended for the Christmas panto train ride was a very set out visit the pantomime was good and very funny the same was on absolute point the museum walk was good with fantastic atmosphere my children had great fun trying to spot to naughty elves and mother Christmas was amazing, in my opinion the only thing that was a slight let down was the train only went backwards and forwards on the same stretch of track and didn't do any sort of route father Christmas was on the train and by far one of the best we have seen very convincing for the children this was a experience that's is worth the money all the staff are very friendly and welcoming a good way to start the Christmas season on aside note the cafe was well spaced and of reasonable price

Visited the cafe. 10/10 for the breakfast. All the staff and what I can presume volunteers are wonderful. Happy to talk explain what is there and offer advice and guidance. Some nice trains on display and the effort on the christ decor was warming

Fabulous day out, train rides with Thomas and Percy, minature railway rides and lots more to see. Very enthusiastic volunteers who were very knowledgeable and keen to share their information about the railways of days gone by. Will definitely be going back with the family to enjoy the bits I missed.

Went there for a event called showbus. They has a train running for free rides 500 yard up the track and back twice. There is a interactive museum.. would recommend a dry day as everything is spread out. There is also a miniature railway that you pay to ride. £1.50pp was alot of fun... can take your baby with you if they will sit still on the sit on mini carriage for 10 mins. The miniature trains consist of privately owned steam, diesel, electric locos
