Cracking hidden pub in Birmingham, proper old school boozer but felt equally welcoming! Plenty of choice in ales, lots of seating (and security cameras too 😂, not that we were up to no good) Definitely come for a pint or 3 and enjoy.

Today, we drank in this small cosy real ale pub down the stairs
This grand real ale pub Today had 6 handpumped ales on from smaller breweries.
Thipub is staffed
well, and it has a music background to it with a good local following
It has a good bar billiards table
For real ale drinkers coming to Birmingham, I strongly recommend this pub

This pub is a must to visit when drinking real ales

Not what it used to be. Real cider cut back, bottle list gone. Chippy Irish barman. But still can't deny that it's a good pub.

An incredible little hidden gem in the heart of Birmingham.
A huge range of local and imported beers as well as a traditional aesthetic.
They allow you to bring in your own food as they don't serve themselves.

Great pub in the basement. Lookout for the door next to Greggs. Excellent range of ales and ciders. Only pub snacks available but you can take your own food in to eat with a drink.

Out of a group of 6 I was the only one to like it but if your a local I'm sure its to your taste. Personally I found it charming and an interesting layout.

We visited here when the Christmas market was on so it was very cramped as it's a very small bar. Couldn't hear each other talk.

Walked in the door and instantly smelt like a care home. Super damp and a bit of a piss smell. Came down the stairs and were quickly approached by a bartender who rudely demanded everyone’s ID’s - there’s no issue with this, but he spoke to us very condescendingly. Cider was stale, had petrol undertones and room temperature, and even though we only stayed for 10 mins, the entire time the same bartender was staring at us, shaking his head and overall was very passive agressive.

Decent atmosphere on a Friday evening, relaxed & friendly, Entrances both sides of building, easy walk from New Street station or Victoria square. Hacker-pschorr & Paulaner weissbier on tap, much cheaper than German Xmas market outside -happy days!
