Saturday, 2.0clock. Moderately busy.
Food was excellent, prices were high. Service and waiting time was exasperating.
We waited 1.5 hours for mains as did other tables, this is not a one off situation. Other reviews from different dates say the same thing.The problem would appear to be kitchen management as some food came out Luke warm, clearly had been ready and waiting for other dishes to be finished.

Nice relaxed lunch, good food that was hot and a nice pint to wash it down, the only downside was that I felt the restaurant was slightly understaffed, one waitress did her best but was clearly overstretched.

Very good value for money and service but limited choice for vegetarians. They have one meat pie of the day option for the roast dinner but nothing available for the vegetarian. We do visit places where there is always vegetarian/Vegan pies available. It's not that difficult to give this option, otherwise we are very happy!!

Celebrated my mum's 90th yesterday evening. The waitress and all the staff were more than helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. A great venue with excellent service. Rarely write reviews but was impressed.

Food was excellent, some of the best we've had in a while. Atmosphere was lovely, we were sat by the fire which then got lit, which we loved.
I allowed 2 hours, as I thought this would be enough time, however, service was slower then I expected, which was a shame as we didn't have time for desert. Server was lovely though, and when we said we had to leave, she got the bill straight away. Although the service was slow, it was nice not to be rushed and wish I had allowed more time.
I had non alcoholic cocktails and they were lovely as well.
Over all, strongly recommend, we will definitely be returning

Came for breakfast a few times and dinner . Can’t complain about the food or service, the staff are polite and helpful and always have a smile on their face. The chicken parmigiana was definitely a hit!!

I went to the Fowlers farm for a work colleagues leaving party a few weeks ago,Absolutely amazing send off my friend, the pub it self beautiful , great atmosphere , the roaring open fires where my favourite part . Just what you need on a cold evening to warm you up . Staff fantastic they handled are large party really well . we never waited at the bar to long and staff where friendly. Mylene , Ella , Rosie and Andy thank you guys . Food we had bar snacks from a wide range from the menu delicious and reasonable priced bar menu .
My recommendation the chorizo delicious . The even went to the trouble of doing a special dessert type board for my colleague brought out by the chef herself Jess . Thank you fowlers farm definitely be seeing us again

We had a group of 60 people to celebrate my nans 100th birthday. The food was amazing, service was incredible and atmosphere was lovely. All the staff went above and beyond, truly amazing people and place. We all had separate bills which was handled with ease. The team should be extremely proud of themselves for being so professional, friendly and all round incredible.

Came last night for son's birthday, starter was lovely thou toast was difficult to cut,had roast beef n whole meal was disgusting. Service was excellent n presentation of meal was fine just quality was awful

Only reason for four stars is it is quite pricey. We had 50% off mains which meant we were able to enjoy a beautiful steak each.

Booked for the restaurant, sat us in the bar area, declined to tell us. Had to ask for menus after 10 minutes, no other service whatsoever. Adjacent table said there food was late, cold and disgusting, so after 30 minutes we got up and left. Will never come back, ever!!

Absolutely lovely food! Been twice in a week because its so nice. Service is a bit slow as they get so so busy but other than that its amazing.

Terrible. For some reason (I imagine to drum up business) someone thought it would be a great idea to have a karaoke DJ on a Friday night when people are trying to socialise in the restaurant. It was so loud that it drowned out any conversation in the restaurant section, making it a screaming match over a burger. Ironically, the DJ managed to empty the bar area alongside deafening your restaurant customers. No take up (thankfully) at all.
Alongside this, the food was cold, and we had to wait 30 minutes to get our meals. The waiting staff were particularly good and did tell us this, so the blame for having to wait so long whilst the DJ tried to get people to sing doesn't fall with them. When it did arrive it was cold, we would've raised this with the waiting team but didn't want to have to scream at them to tell them.

We were a group of five that went on the 28th of January, the food was absolutely lovely.
My grandparents were very pleased with the atmosphere of the restaurant as well as the varied menu
We were served by Jill and Mylene and our chef was Scott, high praise all round, very friendly service with a smile and the food was cooked perfectly. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a nice meal out in Braintree.

Our first visit to Fowlers farm (My mum and myself) for an evening meal.We had a lovely evening.The lady who served us was called Libby - Very warm ,friendly,helpful service.The food was presented beautifully and tasted delicious! Well done to chefs Ollie and Scott.Would definitely recommend it to friends and family.Ive now got the Vintage Inn app and will be visiting again in the very near future.Thankyou, everyone!
