Popular City Centre pub. Great staff... especially Nicky,Will & Heidi. Good food. Good selection of ales. Jukebox is well used. Beaujolais nouveau day is a must every November.

We didn’t stay Overnight, we just had lunch, but in one word, brilliant. It’s what an English pub should be like. Food was beautiful and very good value for money, all staff were very friendly and helpful, although there was one barmaid who doesn’t get the concept of service, all other bar staff were busy yet myself and 3 others had to wait til she finished her chat with her girlfriend to get a drink.
I highly recommend this pub.

Booked in for a meal for 8 friends after Octoberfest in central park. Great food, the mixed grill is amazing. Good beer and friendly atmosphere

Great pub!
We had a triple room with 3 single beds. The room was clean, and the beds were comfy.
Unfortunately one of the shared showers didn't work but luckily it didn't cause us an issue.
We ate in the pub, there was a good selection and they were able to cater to gluten free.

Fantastic spot! Staying here for work and the room is exceptionally clean. Espresso machine in the room which is a huge bonus. Food in the pub was great; I had the fish / chips. Staff very friendly. Would certainly recommend. Added bonus was football on tv for those who want it.

Amazing cozy little place. I booked a room the same night I stayed which was very convenient for a last minute notice. I really wanted to criticize something but I honestly couldn't fault it. It had everything I needed from towels, to soaps, a brand new duvet, a kettle with complimentary tea/coffee and even a TV. The room was very warm but that was an advantage to me. Even the staff were very helpful and friendly. The price was a bit high for my liking but all the other little details they had and the cleanliness made it worth every penny.

Lovely maritime themed pub 2 minutes walk from Chelmsford Station. Reasonably priced and excellent selection of real ales. Cosy and comfortable, nice to sit and relax over a couple of pints and unwind....friendly staff.
