Food is always lovely and we have been regulars for a few years.. However it's not nice to now feel like an inconvenience on more than one occasion with a pram due to our baby not yet being old enough to sit in a high chair. Unfortunately this has now put us off eating in.

I've been going here for over 30 years now & at least a few times a year and have never had a bad experience as staff are always lovely & the food is delicious, been here as a large party & alone & always felt welcome & treated well, highly recommend to try the chicken or fillet steak in Cantonese sauce with egg fried rice as have never disappointed 😁

Just terrible service in the restaurant tonight. An hour and a half wait before getting food. Then forgot an additional drinks order. No compensation and barely an apology. Avoid.

Decor was really lovely and tasteful.
Reasonable prices for food and portion sizes were fair. £5 for lager seems steep but I suppose its about right.
They made my nana feel really special on her birthday singing to her!
Great location and amount of parking.
Also easily accessible for nana in her wheelchair.
Would recommend the beef and green pepper in black bean sauce and the chowmein with soft noodles.

We really enjoyed our meal today as much as our first visit. Lovely staff, really great food and very reasonable prices. Definitely eati👍😊ng here whenever we visit Congleton. Atmosphere is great, well worth a visit.

I'm not really sure where to start.
But not good.
Can't say I enjoyed it at all.
The ribs were like eating a river of fat. I mean, seriously, no meat, just fat and dripping oil.
Prawn toast was ok. The rolls ..meh
The fryed rice had bits in it I can't explain... and looked more like boiled than fryed .
The seafood was ok until we got to the squid, which was dreadful. Had to be spat out. Honestly, if you're going to charge a premium,..use fresh.
Cantonese sauce that to be fair possibly would taste better out of the bottle it came in.
Duck, that was burnt.. and where not burnt again... more fat
It was just very expensive for food you would expect to be and probably better from a takeaway.
Look, I don't give bad feedback lightly. In fact, I really don't like to do it at all, but I just can't in good conscience give a good review this time. Sorry
And yes, I accept that it could be a one-off. The last time I came here it was great but this visit was terrible.
Sorry. But 86 pounds on a meal that I really did not enjoy.
Didn't want to make a scene, had kids with me , so I just paid it.. then again, at no point during the meal, did anyone even ask how it was.

I am a bit biased because I go here every Thursday for Salt & Pepper ribs. The prawn toast is to die for, dim sum are good Har Gau and Sui Mai, I'm quite partial to the Szechuan Beef too. The staff are friendly and professional and give good service & all-in-all a very pleasant dining experience 😁

Well overpriced for average food.
I ordered two Chow Meins with a portion of spare ribs to take away.
I nearly dropped dead when I was told the bill was £33.30!
Extortionate prices, I will not be returning.

Happy Garden was my go to Chinese when I lived in Congleton. Since moving away I haven’t been able to find anywhere that compares. I called in tonight as I was driving through and have to commend the excellent service, accommodating my special order, and food that was as good as I remembered it.

Lovely venue for a restaurant. I had a basic takeaway of beef curry and boiled rice. I expected the price to be similar to other takeaways at around £8.
But this was £12. Ok I thought, it's going to be better as it's more expensive. But it was no better than a decent £8 meal. If you visit this place, eat in and enjoy the experience it seems to offer. But for a takeaway, go elsewhere. Oh.. and I had to have 2 rounds of buttered toast afterwards to fill me up.

We absolutely love this place, I have been here many times over the last 20 years, but just lately we just can't seem to stay away. This is definitely my favourite Chinese at the moment. The food is delicious, everything we try is fantastic. The service is good and the food comes out fast, to top it off its very good value for a sit in restaurant.
