Excellent art gallery and museum. Amazed ourselves and spent 2 hours in this well presented and eclectic collection. So pleased we visited. Very good facilities and cafe.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic Cultural Gem in Coventry! The Herbert Art Gallery & Museum is an absolute must-visit in Coventry! It offers a brilliant mix of art, history, and interactive exhibits, making it perfect for all ages. The galleries are beautifully curated, featuring everything from local history to contemporary art. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the temporary exhibitions are always thought-provoking and well-presented. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the space itself is modern and well-maintained. Plus, it’s free to enter! Whether you're a history buff, an art lover, or just looking for a great day out, the Herbert never disappoints. Highly recommended!

Dreadful. Seriously, find somewhere better. Anywhere. Or just stay at home. Awful experience.

We love coming to the Herbert for the children's activities. They are always reasonably priced, super fun and the staff are so friendly.

A lovely free museum to spend time at in Coventry. The archives are very interesting to go through, and we spent a lot longer than we expected in the main gallery on the first floor. Make sure to make the most of the interactive parts of the exhibits upstairs and downstairs too!!

Fabulous city Gallery, currently showing examples of exhibits collected over the years, and how they changed from male dominated portraits of dignity to multi-cultural items. Dippy the dynasor is still there, and they had an activity room for toddlers plus the cafe and shop.

A wonderfully child friendly day out! We came on a rainy Sunday and spent longer than we expected to because our son loved it.

A hidden gem in the heart of Coventry, I was visiting a friend and we decided to pay a visit on Sunday afternoon, there was lots to learn from dinosaurs, the history of Coventry dating back to the world wars and how life was like for the locals, we also visited the art gallery in the museum, would definitely recommend this museum and it was free.

I loved my visit to the Herbert, there was so much to see, touch and smell from George Eliot, Dippy, Fine Art and Lady Godiva. I particularly loved the peaceful sensory nature area which helped me to process more of the museum and relax. However, It was somewhat dampened by a staff member interrupting me twice for survey completion, it should be a do-not-disturb zone. Overall, I highly recommend visiting and will be bringing some friends next time

Now, this is a proper museum. If there's one thing in Coventry worth a visit, this has to be one of only a very small handful. Bring plenty of change, not for the museum, but for the mannnnnnny many beggers that will decend on you as you make your way to the museum doors. Coventry can regenerate as many times as Doctor Who, but some of the people have decided to evermore remain bad guy charatures from Oliver Twist. P.s. Don't walk back via Cross Cheaping after 6pm.

We visited the Herbert Art Gallery & Musium Purley to see Dippy. I was incredibly surprised to find it completely free to enter when we got there and initially thought the Musium was only the one long room that runs parallel to the area dippy was housed but once we went upstairs we discovered it is huge and so much more to see. It is very well curated and offers a good history of the area through the artifacts and a good bit of art. Overall a great day out the only part we felt was not up to par with the rest of the place was the micro worlds. It is a digital interactive area but with the amount of people in there and the quality of the displays it felt rushed and unfinished. This was also £3 per person to see which we really didn't mind paying especially considering the rest of it is free but in my opinion this was the worst area. I think less stuff crammed into the room and a restriction of the amount of people in the room at once would improve the experience. As it was on our visit it was just too busy in there and there was a qué of 6 or 7 people waiting to use every installation in there so everyone felt rushed and while using the interactive parts people would have no choice but to walk in front of you disrupting the experience. Would and have recommended it to family and friends. It's well worth the trip.

Museum of the history of Coventry which is hosting Dippy as s/he (?) tours the country. Good explanation of the city's medieval history onwards.
