Went here for our mini moon and stayed in a spa room. It was beautiful! Had a sauna, a 2 person hot tub bath and an emperor sized bed. It was incredible!

As a lover mount pleasant and had many a good night hear especially the tribute nights and also NYE which was a fantastic night a couple of years ago we decided to book again for NYE 2024 expecting the same but sadly it wasn’t we normally go in a lovely room decorated beautifully, big dance floor and on a table of eight were you can chat meet new people and have a really good night but this time we were in the restaurant were we normally have breakfast thought they’d made a mistake at first but no that’s were we were seated to have our 5 course meal which I might add was very disappointing to really didn’t like any of it and neither did my husband or my sister and her partner as soon as the meal finished they were setting the tables for breakfast !! There was nowhere to sit upon leaving the restaurant as it wasn’t big enough to accommodate everyone were the disco was all in all a very disappointing night and for the money we paid wasn’t worth it so definitely won’t be going again on NYE as I think we were a bit short changed, hopefully the tribute night in February for valentines night will be better

As usual had a fabulous experience at The Mount Pleasant . Friendly staff , lovely room , great food . We stayed over after the NYE twenties themed ball which was an excellent evening and really good value . We will definitely be returning .

My 80th party was at mount pleasant. Debbie looked after us from day one. Nothing was too much trouble There were 60 guests and everyone said how fantastic everything was The buffet was exceptional also dancing to 60s music until midnight. 9 families stayed overnight fantastic rooms and big choice at breakfast Thankyou from all the 60 guests Audrey.

Exquisite and well appointed bedrooms with comfortable beds and beautiful, clean bathrooms. The hotel is wonderfully furnished throughout and staying there felt like a luxurious treat. We were visiting for a funeral reception and the staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. Just what we needed. I would happily stay again.

"Disappointing Experience and Poor Customer Service"
I stayed at this hotel during my travels, arriving close to 2 AM for a very quick few hours of rest. The check-in was smooth, but the real issue arose in the morning. When I opened the cupboard to retrieve my suit and jacket, I was hit with a terrible smell. On closer inspection, I discovered a pizza box left behind by the previous guest.
As I was leaving within 10 minutes, I didn’t see the point of going down to reception to report it at that moment. Instead, I contacted the hotel after leaving to inform them of this issue.
The general manager, Richard Tyas, responded with an apology but refused to offer any form of compensation. As someone who travels extensively across the country, I find this response extremely disappointing. In the hospitality industry, when a guest has a negative experience, the basic expectation is for the hotel to take responsibility, apologize sincerely, and offer compensation as a gesture of goodwill.
What frustrated me the most was the reasoning provided—that I should have reported the issue immediately. I fail to understand how reporting it at the time would have changed the fact that the room wasn’t properly cleaned before my arrival. I didn’t need the pizza box removed immediately—I was already leaving.
I even offered pictures and a video of the issue, with timestamps, to show what I encountered. Still, their attitude was dismissive. This situation highlights a lack of care and understanding of proper customer service, which I find unacceptable from a hotel with decades of experience in the industry.
I hope the management will implement measures to ensure such oversights never happen again, but sadly, this experience has left me with no intention of returning to this property or recommending it to others.

We have just had our family Christmas weekend get together. As we come from various areas we used this hotel as a base. We booked a meal on Saturday evening. The Hotel rang us prior to our stay and asked did we want a meal on the Friday. They booked us two tables at different times to suit our arrival times. Throughout our stay we had excellent service, very friendly staff and the facilities were very good too.
They even helped with a medical incident where one of our members need hospital treatment on one night.
What a great weekend.

Perfect for a family of 5. We wanted to stay 1 night in a hotel near the Yorkshire Wildlife Park as a family of 5. Options were slim. I called up the hotel and they said the family room for 4 could easily accommodate an extra z-bed at no extra charge. The room was huge with a seating area and 2 showers. The kids loved it. Breakfast in the morning was great too. Would highly recommend, especially for families of 5 as know is tricky to find options.

My husband and I have just had a wonderful evening in The Taittinger Spa Suite. It is absolutely stunning!
We had a delicious meal and full English breakfast. The staff are friendly and professional. The hotel is immaculate and very clean and well kept.

It was our second stay at the Mount Pleasant Best Western and I strongly recommend this hotel.
Courteous staff . Huge well fitted out and spotless rooms. Ultra impressive lobbies and common spaces. Sumptuous and very filling breakfast with lots of vegetarian choices

Over night stop on our way home to Scotland. Our superior room was excellent, loved the art deco fireplace and the huge bed was luxuriously comfortable. Restaurant staff and food were excellent, would certainly recommend and definitely stay when next in the area.
