The cafe staff are always friendly. The place does get busy at lunchtimes and you just have to turn up and try and get a table - you can’t book. However, saying that, it just seems to work out that a table becomes free within 10 minutes so it’s fine.
My mum and I always choose the chicken and pesto panini but I can assure you, there’s plenty of other things to choose from!
The grounds are lovely to walk around and there’s a large field near the carpark which is great for exercising dogs.
The pay and display car park takes card/contactless so no need to worry about taking change. I would prefer to use cash myself but these are the times we live in😀

A really relaxing place to walk the car park is secure and fair cheap. Plus the onsite micro brewery and restaurant is a welcome relief after walking the grounds.

Main building currently closed for refurbishment, so we went around the established paths around the lake and ponds. Good underfoot if a bit muddy at parts, very steep path back up to the main building but benches along the way for a rest

Previously enjoyed walking around here with family and dog but notice it is used a lot now on evenings by people using off road bikes and flying by you very fast which is not great when walking with people with mobility issues as quite unnerving for them. Also a lot of dog waste on the floors that isn't picked up and walking by people using what smells like cannabis. Alternative walks are now looked at for all these reasons which is a shame as this is local and was previously a lovely area to walk.

It's a quiet place, I say where you can find; playground for children, dogs can also walk through the places with forests that have roads made through them, you can have a picnic on the green grass, there is also a pub where you can find food, alcoholic drinks and refreshing, it also has a paid parking lot, they also have route that you can walk around the place, which is downhill and uphill in nature, I don't know if I missed something, I'm not very good at presenting places, I mostly described what I saw, I hope it's helpful.

Lovely to walk round the house and grounds. The cafe does decent food and drinks, and is reasonably priced.

Free entrance to the hall ,nearby small lake and big parking..parking cost 1.20 for 1 hour and 1.80 for 2 hours
