I had visited several Marston's venues but this one must come bottom of the list. Ordering was simple, as always. The wait for our food however was very long. We waited over 30 minutes for lunch portion of scampi and chips. The service was adequate but I was underwhelmed. I have always, in other venues, been asked how the meal was, but not today. The scampi was nice, however the chips ranged from warm to slightly above room temperature, the peas were fine. When ordering we had taken advantage of the pudding for £2.50, however after 20 minutes waiting we had to go to the bar and ask where it was. It arrived almost 10 minutes later. The pub didn't seem busy, so we wondered why it took so long. The pub seemed clean and we witnessed cleaning of tables after customers left. We also had 2 pints of Pepsi Max which was a little sweeter than expected. I expected better from an almost £30 spend.

Service from bar staff was lovely! £6 for a pint of Moretti is quite expensive but it didn’t stop us buying a couple more😂 the toilets had toilet roll and bits on the floor and it wasn’t busy so it should’ve been better. We didn’t have food but were seated near the carvery counter and we noticed the guy on that station was very rude and we could hear the customers complaining about him from our table. Don’t work in customer service if it’s your not willing to make your customers visits special.

Came in with my partner and we both had dinner. I had a cowboy burger that was delicious and came fairly quickly. We were served by a lovely young man called Liam who checked in on us and was very pleasant. We will be returning for sure

The team were happy, friendly and helpful - so quiet though (except for a table of a dozen ladies on a Monday evening) Carvery & (for me anyway) better than the one named after jugs.

Lovely, welcoming family pub. Between us we ordered a la carte, carvery and from the kids menu. Food is fast, fresh and delicious, the carvery beef is especially worth mentioning 🤤 we were served by Troy who was super attentive and informative, he was especially helpful with regard to my dietary intolerance and highlighted the dishes I could safely enjoy. Costs are reasonable and there's a great selection of drinks.

Drinks ok, however no bottomless soft drinks..
Carvery was poor, poor selection of veg, undercooked roast potatoes, crumbled stuffing, only condiments were salt n pepper sachets..!! No mustatd, mint sauce, cranberry etc..

We visited the House Martin today for lunch, we were welcomed by friendly helpful and efficient staff, one of the team went out of her way to ensure we got our favourite cheesecake!! Overall atmosphere, food and environment were fantastic!! Thanks to all

Me and my workmate stopped in for food and pints after work, wasn't busy at this point but Shannon and Joe who were working made us welcome and had great customer service.We aren't from here so for us to be made to feel at home was good, also watching them together behind the bar was an art they both know and do there jobs well. Every customer left with a smile..its good we are only staying 5 mins away as we will definitely be back

Love this pub, food is beautiful ( never had a bad meal).the atmosphere is great. Staff are brilliant. We don't go anywhere else.

Just had a visit today at the house Martin and the food wasn't up to scratch at all, the portions were very small for the price of the meal which was £15.99 , I had fish and chip with peas , the peas were no more than a small dessert spoon, very small portion of chips and small fish, to me was more like a child's portion, and to top it up it was served cold also should have been served with tartar sauce on serving it to we were told they didn't have any . I was very disappointed and won't be returning

Just had a carvery. Worst meal I have ever had in House Martin. Yorkies very dry tasted like cardboard, roast potatoes tough not crispy gravy could stand a label in the middle far too gloopy and flavourless. Sorry did not enjoy at all.
