19/09/24 Woolshops, Halifax HX1 1RU · I went to woolshops Halifax to do some shopping two months ago and was sent a parking fine of £100 through stating this was none payment off parking when in fact I had paid my parking outside M&S so I emailed them and informed them that I had paid my parking and they could check the machine, after 18 days I received a response saying the fine had been cancelled no apologies. I then went back to woolshops for a spot of shopping today and when I went to pay they were again issues with the machines and I was told they had just been fixed, my parking was £2.50 but I only had too two pound coins so I put them in the machine and got no change I spoke to the chap who was managing the machines and albeit it isn’t his fault I was told these machines do not give change so the long and short of this update is BELOW THE COMPANY THAT OWNS THE PARKING MEETERS OUTSIDE M&S ARE NOW ROBBING WOOLSHOPS CUSTOMERS AND ADDING THIS TO THERE PROFITLINES THIS IS DISCUSTING.

Parking - be careful. I paid, my phone pinged to acknowledge money had left my account. A few weeks later I received a parking fine. If I paid immediately £60 only or £100!!! After an unnecessary appeal I won. But after this episode a few friends know of others that have experienced the same. Stressful and spoilt the memories of shopping with my elderly parent.

Update. Visited M and S on 22nd May 2024. Parked for 1 hour 19 min. Paid with card at the machine the requested £2.50 (I have evidence) midweek rate is shown as £2.50 for 2 hours Was sent a £100 parking fine on 29th May. It even says my duration was 1 hour 19 min. Edit. After some difficulty I managed to contact Parking company my parking spaces who have since cancelled the PCN. Over 2 hours on internet as they make it as difficult as possible. AVOID!! AVOID!! AVOID!! This app for this car park is very unclear and difficult to use. It misleads customers into thinking automatic payments have been set up and then fines customers when the system doesn't work. There is no loyalty or support for loyal and regular customers. I entrusted the company with the privilege of being able to debit my account with no authorisation from me and now I have TWO fines because their system was so unclear.

Only one paynent machine working this evening, which wouldn't accept card payment only coins! The app didnt work, the office was closed appalling service and very expensive.

Great place to go for shopping, all the top brands JD sports peacocks, Greggs River Island, M&S and 02. all the high street brands & the odd bargain. Good for a browse anyways. 😁 Get yourself down here, recommended.

Diabolical parking system. Discrimination against disabled customers. My MiL is a wheelchair user and there are insufficient bays in this carpark my FiL has to drop her off in car park outside m and s as there were no spaces. He then paid for an hours parking even though he had not parked and left. Landed with a £100 parking charge by the scam company that operates from this location despite paying the ludicrously high charge for parking even though there was no space. This car Park used to allow 20 mins free. Total rip off. Customer services on site apologetic about their scam company but done nothing to help.

Parking is literally fraud. I stayed 1:20 and got charge for 3 hours parking. They are defrauding customers with parking.

This is about car parking. The recent change, to 'Your Parking Space' works well, only if you park & pay. Don't bother pre-paying (booking) as the Woolshops staff are unable/unwilling to 'validate tour YPS booking' in order to allow you to exit. It seems that the Woolshops Customer Service staff (I saw 2 different ones) are refusing to help their customers by not engaging with the new system. Also, because there are now no physical barriers, no count is apparently made of numbers of available spaces, so you have no idea if you will find a space, even if you have pre-booked, as I did. I ended up paying again, in order to have hassle-free exit, the alternative being, as told to me by one of the Woolshops staff, "Just drive out and risk getting a parking summons".

The parking is a scam! I went in and after seeing the new pay by app arrangements decided not to stay but was charged £2 without even parking.

Shops seem to be closing down regularly, but halifax isn't a massive shopping destination anyways so what do you expect. Not too bad, has some basics.

Shops here quite regularly, boots, whsmith, Tesco, newlook, river island, Thornton's, JD sports and many more.
