Somewhere that's worked out how to bring teens and twenty-somethings out to enjoy a pub. Reasonable prices, games consoles and plenty of space to move. Upstairs loos need some improvement though. No soap and no drying materials.

Unfortunately, my boyfriend and other friends left without enjoying the Val's day night. We were shocked and embarrassed when the M
anager confronted my boyfriend that he was staring at one of your staff. I didn't know if having eyes and appreciating how one of your staff does her job effortlessly is a crime or strictly prohibited in your premises. My boyfriend didn't offer any word to the staff in question but he was pushed by the Manager and the security was called to send him out in the cold. That was very unprofessional, unheard-of and disgraceful. My take home message was that of an unfriendly and discriminatory Manager towards black customers.

For a student bar that's also a massive cultural hub for the Leicester music and arts scene, this place is excellent. Great selection of vegan and gluten free food and drinks as well as alcoholic and none alcoholic cocktails and beers, awesome mini arcade with playstation and Nintendo cube games (available for free!) and pinball upstairs.
They are also incredibly accommodating for venue hire and always have great communication. The owners clearly put a lot of time and dedication into this bar, going all out with decorations for events like Halloween.
This bar shaped my teen years and has become a cornerstone of my social life having come back in my 30s. (Suitable for all ages!😂) Plus they put on some top notch events and support local charities 🔥

More than anything else, I like their burgers.
And the atmosphere is very good.
Tge best thing is the vibe.
If you like Rock musics, you are a punky, or you like to be in a lively pub with excellent music playlist, pop in and enjoy a drink.

Got there early to eat - food was really inexpensive and very tasty
Drinks prices were fine, pretty standard couple of pints for £11 and a better than usual choice of beers
The toilets, that so many reviews seem unhappy with were fine. This is a late night music venue bear that in mind. If you want cotton hand towels, arte deco furnishings and medically clean surfaces I suggest you spend your night out at the Savoy
Bar staff were pretty good, special mention to the young lady with the pink hair and left arm tattoos she was great
Upstairs venue was a really nice size and the sound was good for most of the time.
Punters in the venue also happy and friendly, nice smoking area.

What to say about this place. Good points first: It's a large pub spread over 2 floors with a bar, pool table, good selection of retro games machines and a dance floor upstairs with a DJ, it has a large fairly decent outside smoking area with cover, a few consoles set-up downstairs to use, didn't try any but they have a large selection of drinks on draught, they have cobs at night for sale and it's open until 4am every night.
Bad Points: There are many, staff don't seem to clean up after themselves with rubbish over the back bars and all over the floors, staff have no personality and seem to serve friends first, door staff are very rude and last week they kicked a guy out who then decided to try to hammer the front door and try to break through a window and all they did (3 door staff), was barricade the front door and lastly, this claims to be a rock bar but they played drum & bass Mmm... enough said!I and lastly can't believe how many customers here do coke, its unreal, we saw that many people actually doing coke or selling it it seems natural here.
