We live in the village went for a few drinks with friends and we will never return it was filthy EVERY table needed clearing of dirty glasses and plates ended up clearing a table to sit at !!! I felt sorry for the 2 bar staff who were working so hard whilst the manager sat outside surely it would be all hands on deck if u were busy such a shame that the pub has been ruined 😡

We planned a day out with the dogs at Bradgate Park which was lovely. Had a quick drink afterwards at The Griffin which was amazing.
As I had booked a table by the window in the dog area at The Badgers Set, we didn't want to cancel.
On arriving at the Badgers Set we realised that the pub was under staffed.....queue to order drinks, another queue to pay for meals, dirty tables, bar clustered with dirty glasses.
We were shown to our table, not by the window as planned, but the chairs were too low to eat at the table.
We swopped table when we could ...and had to ask for it to be cleaned and glasses removed.
Food was ok , not amazing, expensice for what it was.
Staff looked super tired, and fed up with the work load, as apparently it was a busy day! The busy day should have been forecast by management as the weather was lovely, and it being a Saturday.
After eating.....we had to sit amongst dirty tables around us, full of plates/glasses etc.
The moral of my story is , why don't the managers get more staff in and trained up when they know it will be busy.
So disappointed, as it was supposed to be a special night.

Lovely country pub in a beautiful locale. We visited on a Sunday and ordered the sirloin roast and a burger. Food was delicious and arrived quick. You can either order at the bar or via a QR code at your table.
The bar offers dog friendly seating away from the main restaurant.
The pub is about a 10minute drive from Bradgate Park. Recommend you book a table as it appears to be very popular!

Terrible place!! Was sat for over an hour before food even came out, and food was cold when it did come out! Ordered 2 separate starters; prawns & mushrooms and they came mixed together and I do not like mushrooms, this shouldn’t have happened. Food was taken to be re warmed but came out the exact same! The chef needs to be SACKED!! I have heard multiple people complain since we have been here. Very unprofessional in this place. The worst I have been too in my life!!

The Badger's Sett was perfect for a family lunch. We all loved the food, and the atmosphere was really welcoming. A special thanks to Pip, who was incredibly friendly and made our visit extra enjoyable. We'll definitely be back!

Lovely lunch today. Welcome warm, atmosphere relaxed, staff lovely. Food excellent.
Only one tiny complaint please put REAL double cream whipped on the pavlova NOT squinty aresol cream. Then the Pavlova would be perfect.

A delightful evening filled with excellent food. Chloe and the gentleman who served us were wonderful. A really friendly atmosphere with the tasteful decor and open fire. Very cosy on a rainy Friday evening.

The food is always wonderful at Badger’s Sett and we are repeat customers. We sat by the wood fire tonight (so warm and cosy!). Our experience this evening was made all the better thanks to the ever-cheerful Chloe who served us. She made sure we wanted for nothing!
Definitely stop here if you are in the area and fancy some hearty, well-cooked pub food in a lovely atmosphere.

Visited today at lunchtime, four adults and two children.
Staff are all very friendly and welcoming, my granddaughters loved it! Considering how busy it seemed they need congratulating on how calm and professional they all were. Cozy log fires and warm atmosphere too.
We have visited several times before, with a four legged friend, and have never been disappointed. Great place for a lunch, thank you all very much.
