I want to love this place so much more. Great atmosphere and vibes.
I went in 4 times now and had to beg for service. The staff is so friendly once they do serve you.
I think they should just add an ordering window so at least there aren’t service expectations.
The WiFi works enough for getting work done but not enough for video calls.

Love this place. I came all the way from portugal and host emma was a delight. I was then served cocktails by lula who was lovely. She recommended me an espresso martini, however I wanted it with tequlia, so she made me an espresso martini with coffee tequlia. Such a great drink! Should be on the menu. I will come back again!

Popped in to this cosy bar for a drink late evening, just before closing, and been welcomed by super nice girl Emilia, people like her make customers coming back, not many places would welcome you with such genue smile, especially before closing. Thank you Emilia, you have the most beautiful smile, will definitely be back.

First time here, came over for a friends birthday brunch.
Mixed feelings about this venue.
Food is great and it looks amazing. All dishes aesthetically pleasing and food is tasty, service is attentive, however it can improve with a smile here and there.
I would assume due to the crazy amount of work they have to do, perhaps at times a smile is not what everyone is thinking of, but goes a long way to compensate what does not go so great for customers.
Read lots of reviews in regards of the noise and only when you get there you realise that.
Straight away on the first interaction where we asked for our table/booking, the person at the door had to come close while saying, What?!?
This is clearly a sign that music can be turned down a notch.
I understand the reasoning for this, there is a live DJ mixing and the vibe is perhaps to induce the consume of alcohol among friends and have a great time, however, you guys could do one of two things to improve this, since turning down the volume is not a option:
1- place a small area for people to dance perhaps?
2- get a DJ that actually gets involved with the crowd. Taking advantage for his high position with a great view for all the tables, if you get the guy a microphone, he can speak with everyone, raising the atmosphere, creating a more engaged and fun vibe, and this way perhaps people would understand and enjoy more of the loud music.
Nonetheless, fantastic decoration, great food, sympathetic staff, but yes, the music is loud.
When we stepped outside we had a little relief similar to when you have that first sip of coffee in the morning. Like… ahhhh…

Had a booking here yesterday, the food was nice and the bottomless was worth the price. Our server Sarah was lovely and very accommodating as a lot of our party was late; she was very understanding and helpful and I’d recommend just for her alone.
The only negative I found was that once her shift finished , no other servers came up to us. To the point it took so long to even get the bill or more drinks. She was amazing but once she was gone it was a whole different service, and the rest of the waiting staff didn’t address us at all (until I went up to them). And it was very hard to tell who was staff and who wasn’t. Overall, I’ll definitely recommend but that was a big down fall for me.

I had the best time yesterday evening at the cocktail masterclass. The service was brilliant, our host made the whole experience super enjoyable and our group (of 12) had a great time.
We loved the ambiance of Canova Hall and the feast afterwards was fantastic. Tasty food, great selection & great portion sizes for all.
We would highly recommend the whole experience to the rest of our friends and others!!

Long waits for service. Waited about 25minutes finally served after few reminders. Waiters forgot that coffee ordered so needed reminder. Food was good.

Absolute fantastic experience. We went for the Bottomless brunch and it was the most unbelievable deal complemented by incredible service by the team. The drinks were flowing and we were always taken care of. Plentiful sparkling white with a large bowl of the cocktail. The space is lovely and vibrant. I am only rating the food a two, as I ordered the pesto tagliatelle and unfortunately it was not pleasant. Pasta over cooked, no seasoning, I asked for salt but that didn’t help. When I gave feedback on the dish they said they understood as they had that feedback before, which I respect their transparency and they removed from the bill. One for the chef to decide whether to change or 86. But I know they take pride in in-house pasta. Outside of that, I will absolutely be going back for other occasions. Great place.

I am absolutely delighted to share my experience at Canova Hall in Brixton! From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the vibrant atmosphere— a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern design. The cosy, inviting ambience set the stage for a wonderful evening. It was Valentine's Day. The music was great.
Now, let's talk about the food! Each dish was a delightful journey for the taste buds. I started with their beautifully crafted antipasti platter, featuring a selection of cured meats and fresh cheeses that were simply divine. For the main course, I indulged in their wood-fired pizza, which had a perfectly crispy crust and a mouthwatering array of toppings. You could tell that everything was made with love and care, using high-quality ingredients.
The service was also noteworthy, with attentive staff who were friendly and genuinely seemed to enjoy their work. They offered great recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening.
Whether you’re looking for a casual dinner with friends or a special night out, Canova Hall is the place to be. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their delicious menu. Highly recommend it to anyone in Brixton!

Incredible from the start to finish! Lovely host Emma was so friendly and managed to seat us at the bar (later kindly found us a booth despite the busy Friday night!). At the bar I was served by such smiley and attentive girls Lula and Geselle who recommend me the Chilli Margarita… it blew my socks off soooo good!

The Pizza tasted awful and the arincini balls were tasteless. The atmosphere is very nice and the staff are friendly. Would return for a drink. Never for the food.

Fantastic Bottomless Brunch with Outstanding Service!
We had an incredible bottomless brunch at Canova Hall, and a huge part of that was thanks to the amazing service from Emilia and Macieyk! From the moment we arrived, they were warm, friendly, and attentive, making sure our drinks were always topped up and that we had everything we needed. Their energy and enthusiasm made the whole experience even more enjoyable, and they handled our group with such professionalism and charm.
The food was delicious, the drinks flowed seamlessly, and the atmosphere was fantastic—but it was Emilia and Macieyk who truly made our visit unforgettable. If you’re heading to Canova Hall, I hope you’re lucky enough to have them taking care of you. We’ll definitely be back!

Came for bottomless brunch on 8th February. We ordered our food within 15 minutes of arriving, but it didn’t arrive until the end of our 2 hour brunch slot, and we had to chase it up several times which was disappointing. Quality of the food was good but spoiled with poor service.

I was totally not expecting to randomly walk by and stop for a coffee on a Sunday and end up having the best pizza of my life after seeing wood fired oven and giving it a go!! Wow just wow, my taste buds got knocked out with the first bite. Was silenced and had to finish the first slice before could lift my jaw off the floor. I am a meat eater through and through but you have to order the goats cheese pizza with sweet potato! Game changer. The tomato sauce and the crisp of the dough was perfect. 10/10

Great food and drinks. Great atmosphere. Charlie was our host and she was fantastic — super welcoming, super attentive and made us feel like VIPs the entire time! We’ll absolutely be returning to Canova Hall to see her and have more great times!
