It was a treat to return to this super restaurant. Beautifully spiced dishes that tingle and tickle your taste buds rather than stun them. Fourth time here but I'll return again for sure.

Lovely and beloved place with adapted, but still original and super-tasty Indian cuisine, with its elegant and romantic interiors, attentive personnel and nice drinks-list. I would outline venison samosa & lamb small-plate and baby-gosht-biryani for main, as well as any other dish, both peculiar and tasty. I would also like to separately thank Ronny Costa (forgive possible spelling-mistake) - the friendliest and most intelligent waiter. All the best and see us next time in Chutney Mary!

Experience at Chutney Mary – Disrespectful and Racist Treatment I have always considered Chutney Mary one of the top Indian restaurants in London, and I’ve enjoyed dining here multiple times. However, my recent visit was beyond disappointing due to the unacceptable behavior of the staff. I simply requested a cola in a bottle, but it became clear that the restaurant does not serve it in its original packaging, seemingly to avoid showing the brand. When I asked about this, the waiter became extremely rude, raised his voice at me, and treated me with clear disrespect. What was even more shocking was the obvious racism—he spoke to me in a condescending and aggressive manner, completely unjustified, and proceeded to kick me out of the restaurant in front of other guests, humiliating me publicly. What made it even worse was that our food was already on the table when this happened. The waiter even went as far as patting my shoulder, physically touching me to force me out of the restaurant, which is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. To make matters worse, the waiter refused to give us his name despite his unacceptable behavior. However, I urge the management to check the security footage, as the incident was clearly recorded on the restaurant’s cameras. This kind of discriminatory and unprofessional behavior is completely unacceptable for a restaurant of this level. I demand that the owner takes action and holds the staff accountable for this disgraceful treatment. No matter how good the food is, no one should tolerate such behavior. Until this issue is addressed properly, I will not be returning, and I urge others to be aware of how customers are treated here.

We went for the weekend brunch to celebrate my wife's birthday. The ambience and service is nice, but the menu options are very limited and its way pricey for what it offers. We took the 2 course meal priced at £50 and for that you get onion bhaji/chat for starters and biryani for the mains - no way can that be £50. Previous to that we went to Amaya and the options, pricing and taste of the food was so much better, will go there any time. I don't think I can justify paying that much for the food we had, so whilst I loved the ambience, I just don't see myself going back there or recommending it to my friends and family."

Sure, this place has won some accolades, and given the decor and vibe it makes total sense. However, in London, where you can get delicious Indian food everywhere and in abundance, the overpriced and somewhat underimaginative offerings leave you wondering where the rest of the food is that you just paid all that money for. It is very good, but with amazing Indian offerings all over the city, very good is not worth your time and money.

Way overpriced. I love gourmet food and I am happy to try new stuff and more expensive restaurants, but 10 euro for a small plate of boiled rice are simply not justifiable. Sorry but no

You walk in and the welcome along with the ambience is warm. I had been there once before and the staff remembered what I'd had the last time, what a way to make you feel like you're returning home! The food is absolutely fantastic & the staff are knowledgeable. Everything about this place is designed to make it feel grand and beautiful without it feeling intimidating. Recommend for drinks, dinner and special occasions. Enjoy!

Don’t go unless you think paying GBP 8.50 for a small Diet Coke is not extortion. The food is not bad, but certainly way off being excellent. It’s a decent venue, staff were polite, the food was OK. We paid 600 for dinner for 5 people, should be half of that max. I’ll post the Bill here. I live in Hong Kong, one of the most expensive places to live on Earth, I’ve never paid GBP 8.50 for a Diet Coke. Or GBP 8.50 for a small tonic water. It’s an insult to my intelligence. My advice, don’t go, no where near worth it. There are so many better options for you to spend your hard earned money on better Indian food and ambience.
