Absolutely delicious Japanese food at a reasonable price, which is hard to find in London! I thoroughly recommend the Jyu boxes (sashimi and rice, with miso soup on the side), the Geso-kara (insanely good value for what you get), the German roll and the Temaki (sushi hand rolls). They have a massive menu, which can be a red flag, but I haven’t found anything that disappointed me so far! I also enjoyed sitting by the bar and watching the chefs make my sushi fresh. Will be coming back again.

Busy at lunch but line moves fast, food is great, as are most Eat Tokyo chains. Good value for money, the portions are big and filling. Service downstairs can be a bit slow. It took quite while for our order to be taken and for it to be served, given how busy it gets, I suppose. Having said that I would still come back.

Pretty good food, not amazing. Had us pay a service charge when the service was bad. They forgot our soup, then were very late with my order (even though we order 2 of the same). Pretty expensive.

Authentic Japanese restaurant with a very good price/quality ratio. Fresh fish (sushi), big portions and quick order to table time. Once entered, you are greeted by all the staff members. They present you with a (too) big menu, in a rather old but cosy setting. Had already some random sushi roles (9.5/10) and a chefs menu (9.5/10) with Miso soup. I will definitely go back, reservation is a nice to have but not needed.

A bit of a disappointing experience, to be honest. It's a bit of strange restaurant - spread over several very small floors, the top (and largest) floor has no windows and feels a bit like a crowded cave. The menu is utterly bewildering (maybe this is normal for genuine Japanese restaurants). The food was _okay_ but honestly I've had better from local (non-London) restaurants. The service really wasn't great - they weren't unfriendly, but a bit brusque. One of our main ishes came nearly an hour after the others and they were (initially) completely unapologetic and said we couldn't cancel it, even though everyone else had finished their food. Vegetarian options are very limited. Vegetarians should beware, as several of the items marked with a 'V' actually contained fish. It's not a _bad_ place, but I wouldn't rush back.

I like this branch of Eat Tokyo (High Holborn). Previous visits were pleasant, 10/10 for food and service. This time, I do not know if she (the waitress) is a new staff or for whatever reason. My friend and I order two bento boxes, one plate of sashimi, and something else to share. When I was almost finished with my bento box (there were still some more in the box that I had not finished yet), I put a spoon of rice into my mouth, even chewing; the waitress was very quick to come and lift the box off the table. I said I was still eating. OK, she put it back and left. Then, the sashimi plate. I used chopsticks. When the last sashimi left the plate and was on the way to my mouth, the plate disappeared in a blink, again, by the same waitress. And the bento box one more time. I took the last spoon of rice and put the spoon back into the box; she was already next to me and very “polite”, asking me if I had finished the dish. I, with a full mouth of rice, of course, could not talk; my friend had to answer her for me, saying that yes, we had finished. 😅 There were 3 times, 3 TIMES in a visit. Hopefully, no one else has had the same experience.

This place has a huge menu and it was difficult to decide as it all looked so great. I had sushi and Tokyo ramen and it was fantastic and great value. I will need to go back and try the bento boxes sometime, they obviously have lots of repeat customers!

Very terrible service. There are plenty of space in the restaurant and there is no queue, yet they asked they don't allow me to sit while waiting for my friends to come. I only arrived 5 minutes early than what me and my friends agreed on

Borderline traumatic: I was bundled into a dimly-lit basement and told to sit in the corner. Like a naughty school boy, I did. The waitress snaps at me to order and a bowl of the £12.50 ‘ramen’ miraculously appears on my table. Cheap and nasty. She scowled further, slamming a water bottle and glass down for effect. Comically unpleasant is an understatement. I fished around sporadically for the odd cuts of fatty pork, eventually spearing all 3 of them. Cost of living crisis is real. Mmmm. Minutes later and the unmistakable flavour of industrial-bred pig floods my palate. I pictured them sunbathing, trotters up, in some faraway abandoned parking lot. Still, I thought, at least those pigs aren’t stuck in some sweaty basement being stared down by an openly hostile waitress. #FreePiggy

Cannot believe on price how they can go below wholesaler price now on days but food is fantastic. Atmosphere be noisy due to ongoing birthday celebration but otherwise all good.

Food was great you are unable to split a bill for more than 3 people. It was a bit of a hassle to split a group of 7 between 3 people and arrange transfering

I've dined here a few times for lunch. The quality of the food and the value you get is second to none. I usually go for the Katsu chicken bento box. The chicken is so crispy and it comes with Katsu dipping sauce. There's also rice and some tofu (see photos). If that wasn't enough miso soup is included with the meal. All this for £10 as of the time of this review. The atmosphere is great and the staff are so polite. They say goodbye to every customer in Japanese.

Discovered a gem in London - Eats Tokyo offers an authentic Japanese dining experience with exceptional service. The attention to detail here is remarkable. One standout moment was when a waitress quietly replaced dropped chopsticks without any fuss - the kind of subtle, attentive service that defines true hospitality. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere transported us straight to Japan. While most of the wait staff aren't Japanese, they maintain high service standards, and having a Japanese chef adds to the authenticity. It was particularly special to be able to converse with the chef in Japanese, adding a personal touch to our evening. The combination of outstanding service, great food, and genuine attention to detail makes Eats Tokyo a must-visit. Perfect for both casual dining and special occasions. The restaurant truly understands the essence of Japanese hospitality - it's in the small, thoughtful gestures that make a dining experience memorable.
