Way better than Tate Modern. The Turner collection, in particular, is one of the best permanent art collections in the UK. Good Henry Moore collection as well. As with all modern (ish) galleries, most people will react negatively to something here, but overall, way more to enjoy than deride (and having a good moan is part of visiting any modern gallery anyway).

Entered the 1980s as a teenager & left this exhibition distinctly underwhelmed. The exhibition is hoisted on a flag of its own political correctness. Important subjects such as race, gender & social change are covered it what’s telling is what is missing.
What no photos of the Falklands War Task force, the Royal Wedding of Charles & Diana. Live Aid? The sub culture section ignored; New Romantics, New Wave, Rockabillys, Mod Revival, Football casuals, & Acid House/Raves.

Very nice museum. Free to visit, and not busy at all! Beautiful paintings, with a very nice layout. It was just the right size to visit the main collection in one day. It took me 1.5 hours!

무료입장이고 티켓 예약하거나 받을 필요도 없어요. 대중교통으로 이동하기가 조금 빡쎄네요. 좀 걸어야하고요.
미술관 실내는 생각보다 넓은 편인데 동선은 조금 불편해요.
기념품 샵도 조금 부실한 것 같고..

I'm a member so going free without booking to exhibitions is good. The paid exhibition are a bit hit and miss. The Sargent was incredible. The Turner Prize was OK. The permanent exhibition is fantastic and varied from medieval to Henry Moore etc and it's free to all. The upstairs restaurant is beautiful but not well laid out, restricted by architecture but worth going. The food and drink options are fine and there's a nice sitting out area downstairs.
I've been there late on weekdays and it's been virtually empty which is incredible
