On our way for a beach dog walk on NYE afternoon. WHAT a find the Axe and Cleaver is. A great pub with a vast selection of food. Really friendly welcome. We managed to get a table for 5 adults and a dog. Good pub grub. Served with fresh salad garnish . Nice selection of wine and beer. This is a low key traditional pub atmosphere. . Absolutely recommend

Was so good, decorations were highly festive, food was excellent quality. Service was good considering it was a busy night. A bit loud next to the bar but other than that everything was top.

Went in last week last minute after a visit to Donna nook, never experienced a pub with a log fire but this was something special, all decorated for Christmas its a beautiful smaller pub, its food was spot on and its staff were friendly, they had a party of around 12 for a Christmas party and the staff were brilliant getting the food out to their customers, definetely plan to go again once the babies grown up abit more as our pushchair was a nightmare to move around

Popped in on the off chance of getting a late lunch and was welcomed by Jo with open arms. The place was very busy but managed to get us a table. Jo took the food and drink orders and offered condiments.. nothing was too much trouble. Despite how busy it was, she gave everyone her attention. Food arrived and was plentiful and well presented and utterly delicious. This place is a well run good food pub with a lovely atmosphere and extremely friendly staff. Definitely would recommend and can't wait to return. Big thanks to Jo for the warm welcome and lively banter with the guests xx

What a lovely friendly pub. The food is brilliant and reasonably priced. This will be our regular when we're in that area as we've just bought a static just down the road from it. Great dog friendly area to eat as well.

Visited whilst staying in the village for a weekend break. Didn't know what to expect and was extremely impressed. The warm friendly welcome and the staff were just fantastic, so helpful and accommodating.
The food was lovely and would recommend the liver and bacon from the home cooked board.
Good prices and dog friendly which is nice nowadays.
I would recommend and definitely would return if in the area again.

We went for dinner here and can honestly say it was the best food we have ever had. It was absolutely beautiful 😍 everything was hot.There was plenty of it, and it was presented so well. Will definitely come back here 🥰 would give it 10 stars 🌟 if I could

Food was excellent and value for money. It is exactly what it says on the tin....good pub grub. They have a fantastic range of drinks on offer, the staff are lovely and lots of seating indoors and outdoors. A great place to stop off on the way back from fishing, work or just on a bit of a drive/ride. Seen lots of bikers in there. Great atmosphere, and as far as I am aware dog friendly

A very warm welcome from the landlady on the Friday, just a nice start to the family holiday she made my boy and two girls and dog feel so welcome many thanks to all the staff stay safe and 🐝 good 👍🏻 I will be back so keep the good work up.

Had a lovely lunch here in the sun. Great pub food at good prices. Lovely waitresses who were fast to serve, friendly and helpful. Good selection of grub, beer and wine.
Pub has live music and a very extensive outdoor seating areas, some of it all weather.
Easy to get in and out on crutches or a wheeler but a wheelchair may be a bit more difficult. Don't worry though, the staff are really helpful.
Been here before and will definitely go again.
