My son and I recently visited my daughter and family at Hatfield Peverel and were looking for somewhere local to her to stay. So glad we found this place. Lovely rooms, perfect location, friendly staff, good food and bonus we managed a bit of fishing. Will be back in the summer.

Not the poshest of hotels (white building in photos) with a pumping station next door. Good price, lovely breakfast, lovely friendly people. And has its own row boats. Would stay there again.

I had a hell of a day, had to get a locksmith out for my car. was driving to Mk from Clacton but was so tired and needed somewhere to stay as it wasn't safe to continue my journey with my daughter. Googled hotels and I rang and spoke to a lovely gentleman who gave me a great rate for the night. Was welcomed personally when we pulled into the car park, had stunning room, double and single bed with sofa, telly, toilet and shower room. We sat in the bar /guest room and played our board game, met the other guests. Hotel had such a warm homely feel, my daughter was given feed to feed the swans and signets. we ate dinner which was lovely then had 10 hour sleep, if I was ever near the area j would most definitely stay in this lovely hotel. Literally saved my bacon that night and we had a great time too xx

Would definitely stay here again. A great breakfast the following morning and a special moment feeding the swans and their chicks !

Visited for the first time despite living in the area for many years.Wish I'd visited sooner,a lovely cafe in a lovely location.Friendly staff,excellent food and good prices.Will definitely be visiting again in the very near future.

Stayed over night for a party. Delightful hotel, clean and comfortable, staff were wonderful snd it was good value for money.

Awful visited restraunt food was cold we had a set meal due to chef being incapable to cook didnt have a vegan option for someone on our table so they had no food the place was filfthy please avoid

Called in for the first time the other day and was pleasantly surprised, we received a friendly welcome and had a nice home-cooked meal at a reasonable price.

My review is about the owner aka Penfold from Danger mouse. He took to Facebook to slander me while I'm blocked (coward). So just to let you all know he is cooking with an out of date health and hygiene certificate which is nearly as out of date as his hotel

Fabulous little gem of a place. Lovely location you can dine outside next to the swans or dine inside too. Excellent food and service staff are really friendly if not a little cheeky. Lol.😂

Absolute delightfull hotel! Stayed here for 6 days for work purposes, Carey a wonderfull woman checked us in with no issues, So polite and incredible amazing to talk to, Then there was Amelia who from start to finish of each day was an absolute delight to be around! Very helpfull! Very funny! And very nice to chat too, Mill House Hotel Should always be your first choice!

Stayed for 7 nights. Great hotel, comfy rooms, but the best bit is the staff. They're all really friendly. Amelia is by far the best, especially when it came to looking after 2 drunk idiots. Would happily stay again

We stopped here for breakfast, for Father’s Day today. Lovely location, little bits trips kept the kids amused, and feeding the swans. superb food and great customer service. Highly recommend.

Great little find. We has a lovely breakfast. Great outdoor seating in the summer. Old fashioned place with lots of charm.
