What a delightful and lovely place. They don't go further in Byron's dark side, which I think is also part of the persona and who he was.

Beautiful gardens ...so worth a visit. Parked away from the Abbey and walked there ...a beautiful walk too

Beautiful exhibition 'Snowed In' Dec 2024 showed off the house and told the story of the Great Freeze. Spent a lovely festive hour and a half meandering through the rooms, soaking up the atmosphere. A real treat.

Beautiful walk around the grounds, loved the two waterfalls, staff could have been friendlier and personally I think £15 is a bit too much to just look around upstairs, however it is a very scenic and relaxing walk.

Fantastic visit everytime we come. Always find somewhere new to explore. The gardens are so well maintained and in the school holidays they often have trails on.
We like to come for the event days here....classic cars, dog shows and victorian fairground days were excellent.

It’s located very close to Nottingham, and it’s a good idea to read a bit about Newstead Abbey beforehand to enhance your visit, especially if you’re going with children. To me, it’s somewhat similar to Nottingham’s Wollaton Park, but it’s definitely worth a visit. I would love to go there again.

Lovely buildings and grounds. The cafe does excellent sausage rolls, both meat & vegan varieties.

My granddaughter enjoyed to open space. Althought she was not impressed by the toilets.
