Very good choice for a short stay.

Hotel was ideally placed as it is only a short walk from the city. The owner was friendly and professional. The room itself was well priced although basic but had everything you needed. I did find that there was quite a bit of dust on the head board of the bed and it was a bit too warm in the room. The mattress I did find to be a bit uncomfortable. I did notice a strange smell in the hallway as you come in from the front entrance.

Cannot complain for the cheap prices. Bed was comfy, bathrooms were clean and decently quiet area..breakfast was pretty lackluster but plenty around to get something elsewhere

Stayed the night with my friend. I would say for the price we paid im happy with what we got. when we arrived thier was a Christmas party that was going on untill late very loud music that we could hear from upstairs including the vibrations luckily we enjoy that type of music so no complaints thier but it did make it a little confusing hard to hear when booking in. Tea coffe provided in the cupbard in the room, shower was quite difficult to get the temperature adjusted. bed was quite comfy, room was clean and to a good standard. TV has a good range of channels.

Attended for our work Christmas party. Room was set out well, tables were set nice, got the Christmas feel. The selection of drinks at the bar was terrible. The staff didn't have a clue what they was serving and it was like they was all new and untrained. 3 bottles of wine on the table included in the package which was good, they happily swapped a red for another rose. Food was terrible. Soup was barely warm, 2 on our table was given soup with no bread on the side. Mains.... vegetables and roast potatoes came out first in centre of the table...veg looking about 10 days old. Roast potatoes very oily, no flavour, some uncooked some edible. Plates served a good 5 minutes after. 1 burnt stuffing ball, 1 cold Yorkshire pudding, 1 parsnip (best thing on the plate) 1 sausage wrapped in bacon, 2 slices of beef (fatty and not edible, bleeding and not even able to cut it) others on the table had beef and it seemed better than what I had. Some had turkey which seemed OK. Very slow in serving the food, staff just darting around like their panicking. No condiments offered. Dessert... definitely looked the best. Cheesecake looked pretty and tasted ok others said. I had Cheese and crackers. Crackers stale, no butter offered, slice of apple and couple of grapes and 3 selections of cheese. Disco saved the night. The DJ was good. Good selection of music and he also took requests. I know you get what you pay for and the price per head was reasonable but I would not recommend this place.

Been there for a work function. Very shocking food. Luke warm soup. The bread was one side toasted one side not. The main was unfairly divided between all the plates, a few of us had a small slither of beef, some had chunky fatty slices. The vegetables looked appalling and should not have been served looking how they did, even MOULDY looking DISGUSTING AND INEDIBLE. The gravy was soo watered down and no flavour. Other tables were offered cranberry or mint sauce. Ours wasn’t and we were the second table to be served. Another person had to wait 25 mins for her fish as they made a mistake and forgot to cook another fish. When she was served the fish is was still FROZEN. This is appalling! They took another 20 mins to probably reheat that frozen fish! Pudding, the GIN and raspberry cheesecake tasted quite nice actually. But didn’t taste like gin. & the raspberry on my plate was mouldy. SHOULD NOT serve such appalling standards like you did. Cheese & crackers unevenly distributed between everyone. Dry crackers, no offer of butter. For the price we paid, that is disgraceful. I heard bad reviews of the food from this place but can’t judge until you’ve tried. But oh my, the standards, taste, service, everything, shouldn’t be allowed to charge people or serve people. If you can’t or wouldn’t eat it. Don’t serve it. There was a party of about 40 people. 3 servers. Had enough notice and should have organised better. Was all over the place. One table still being served their mains when we had finished at least 10 minutes prior.

We went for a pre-booked Christmas meal, just 10 in the party. We were the only ones there. It wasn't long before we found out why. The food was inedible. We sent the prawn starter back it was off, but the response was that it was only delivered yesterday. It wasn't off, but they would offer us an alternative. The bread was stale and soup luke warm. When the main course came out, the gravy and vegetables were put out first we had to wait a while for the plates with food on, so no surprise the veg was barley warm, the Brussels so hard you couldn't eat them, cauliflower inedible, with the carrots only thing we could eat. I had beef, it was so tough I couldn't eat it, the roast potatoes were very overcooked, and the giant Yorkshire pudding was the only edible thing on the plate. They didn't have horseradish. They advertised roast beef they should have all the condiments. Thankfully, the pudding was edible. I have never come away from a 3 course meal hungry. I don't normally write reviews, but this was so bad I wouldn't want anyone else to have that experience.

Staff friendly and very helpful, nice clean room and warm, comfortable bed everything you need in the room, shower gel and clean towels, kettle with plenty of milk, tea and sugar if need more get from reception, the area is close to the town and my family live nearby when visiting, would come back and will recommend to anyone.

The Queensgate Hotel provided the perfect backdrop for our recent reunion. While the hotel itself offered comfortable accommodations and a delicious breakfast, it was the exceptional service of one employee in particular that truly elevated our experience. Connol, the bartender, was an absolute star. Despite being the only one on duty, he worked tirelessly throughout the night to ensure that all of our guests were well looked after. His friendly demeanor, efficiency, and ability to keep the drinks flowing even under pressure were truly impressive. He went above and beyond to make our reunion special, and we all appreciated his dedication. The breakfast spread was another highlight, offering a wide variety of options to satisfy everyone's tastes. It was the perfect way to fuel up after a night of catching up with old friends. Overall, we had a fabulous night. The combination of a comfortable setting, good food, and outstanding service from Connol made it a truly memorable experience. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a venue for a gathering or simply a pleasant stay in Peteeborough. Special thanks to Connol for making our reunion so special!

Good location, staff are very friendly, you need to register your car or any motor vehicle to be able to get free parking, they do food or KFC just cross the road and town centre is 5 to 7 minutes walk away.

We slept here while driving down from the highlands. Rooms are fine, nice hot water in shower. Breakfast was fine too :)

They gave the twin room we reserved to someone else and put us in a small double, I ended up having to sleep on the floor. We requested extra bedding but they didn't give us any extra pillows only a quilt. Made for a very poor night's sleep. Parking was limited but convenient. The hotel location is very convenient for a night out in Peterborough. Bar prices were horrendously high.

Entire hotel and room smelt really bad, like toilet smell. Terrible nights sleep as the walls were so thin I could hear people walking about in the next rooms, talking, and closing doors etc. Shower did not work properly and was stuck at 38 degrees. I was considering giving 2 stars as the staff were really nice and helpful. But I cannot give this place 2 stars. Would never recommend here to anyone!

It’s fair to say that when you book a hotel room that the facility's available should be available!! On my stay there was no evening food available but we did have a great guy called Darrell who was running around doing everything and he could not have been more helpful and had a great attitude and work ethic, running reception and running the bar helping customers he was absolutely brilliant but unfairly over worked and really needed a extra member of staff to help with the load, you should be proud to have such a member of staff to be so helpful and supportive in his job but also look at yourselves as a company to this guy in such a mad situation!! Hotel is nice clean tidy but very very under staffed I would stop again but I would advise a little bit more help at busy times

Room had no clothes iron, no microwave. Very small bathroom while the building is very old. We weren’t comfortable so checked out a day earlier. We approached an elderly woman who was at the counter & asked if we could get a full or partial refund, she said they had to confirm from the owner & promised they would give us a call. We never got a feedback till date Very poor service!

Potentially a great hotel due to great location to stadium and Peterborough centre. Also staff are a credit as all friendly and polite and happy to help in the grim conditions they work in. Breakfast close to being inedible, room I stayed in close to being hazardous to health. All fittings seen better days, mouldy bathroom and stained carpets. Yes it is cheap but not cheerful. Bed was comfortable though, but room with a view was not.

Joshua gave great bar service, very funny and entertaining person, the room (47) is a little tired, could do with a carpet clean, the light fitting thick with dust and mold spits through the bedroom and bathroom, a new shower screen should be installed ASAP as the curtain is failing leaving water to flow on the floor. Dust on the door backs, frames and behind TV just felt like nobody cares enough, these jobs only need doing once per month yet the build up indicates a lot lot longer, pretty disappointing.

Returned from a weekend, can't fault a thing for the money. Great value, lovely front of house staff. Three of us were looking for a hotel to stay at 3-4 times a year and have found it!
