It is a nice place if you like to see the park from above. In good weather conditions you can see even the City of London and the huge buildings of it.

It's a different perspective at Kew to walk above the trees. There is a lift for those who don't/ can't walk to the top.

The Treetop Walkway at Kew Gardens offers visitors a unique and exhilarating experience high above the ground. Here's what you can expect when visiting this attraction: ## Structure and Height The Treetop Walkway stands an impressive 18 meters (59 feet) above the ground, allowing visitors to walk among the uppermost branches of Kew's majestic trees[4]. The structure is made from over 400 tonnes of weathered steel, designed to blend in with the natural environment[4]. ## The Ascent To reach the walkway, visitors must climb 118 steps. While this can be challenging for some, many find the effort well worth it for the views and experience that await at the top. It's important to note that at the time of writing, there was no operational lift, so visitors should be prepared for the climb. ## Walkway Experience Once at the top, you'll find yourself on a 200-meter (656-foot) long pathway that winds through the tree canopy. The walkway is designed to flex slightly in the wind, which can be a bit unnerving at first but is an important safety feature. The floor is made of wire mesh, which allows you to see through to the ground below, adding an extra thrill to the experience. ## Views and Nature The Treetop Walkway offers a rare perspective on the complex ecosystem of the trees' uppermost branches. Visitors can observe birds resting in the branches, insects, fungi, and lichen up close. The elevated position also provides stunning views across Kew Gardens. ## Educational Elements At ground level, there are sculptures carved from tree trunks that illustrate microscopic elements of trees, explaining how they grow. This adds an educational component to the experience, enhancing visitors' understanding of the surrounding nature. ## Visitor Experience Many visitors find the Treetop Walkway to be a highlight of their trip to Kew Gardens. It's often described as peaceful and less crowded, especially if visited early in the day. The unique vantage point offers a new appreciation for the majesty and complexity of trees. ## Practical Information The Treetop Walkway is open daily from 10am to 6pm, with last entry at 5:45pm. It's advisable to check for any planned closures before visiting, as the walkway may be closed in bad weather or for maintenance. Visitors are asked to leave buggies at ground level and ensure children are supervised at all times. Overall, the Treetop Walkway provides a memorable and awe-inspiring experience, offering a fresh perspective on nature and a thrilling adventure for those who don't mind heights.
