Great castle ruins to explore. Wet and windy few hours spent here exploring the castle secrets and then had delicious cake and coffee in the cafe. Definitely with a visit.

Had a lovely trip out, so much to look at inside the castle as well as gorgeous views as well of the area, definitely be going back for another visit

Ruins of an old castle (enough left to imagine it and some stairs to climb a couple of the towers and up to one of the walls, but not much more than that) with a handy free audio guide and good cafe. Very cold when we went so didn’t hang around to see the surrounding area, but enough to keep us entertained for 1-2 hours. Originally Norman none of which remains - but the oldest tower is from the next building, 12th century from memory, and the rest of it is another 100 years on so very ancient. Was in use up beyond the civil war in the 17th century, in which it was involved. Worth a visit.

What a bloody great castle. Loads intact enough to be able to walk around, and a rich history to get stuck into. Speaking of getting stuck into something, the cream teas were BLOODY delicious. Filled my face.

Goodrich Castle was my highlight to a recent trip I took to Ross on Wye; it was so unexpected but absolutely brilliant. The best thing about this place is that you can explore absolutely everywhere, all the different staircases to turrets and different parts of the castle; into the basement rooms, the old latrine, the moat, everywhere. It's so nice to be able to freely wander and explore. The castle is truly stunning and is so well preserved, it's really a treat to wander around. The location is incredible with fantastic views of the river and surrounding hills. The staff were fabulous, really friendly and knowledgable, and the gift shop had some really nicely curated items for sale - we tried and bought some ginger wine and marmalade. Would fully recommend!

Such an amazing find!! The highlight of our visit to this area of the country. Dog friendly, with a lovely cafe, and really knowledgeable friendly staff working there. It was fab and well worth a visit!! What an amazing castle.

Absolutely stunning castle in beautiful scenery. Lots of different areas to explore and loads of photos to be taken 😊 There was a spiral staircase that was slightly tricky to traverse, but all 3 members of our group managed it, under protest 😁 The views from on top of the keep were stunning!! It was worth the 3hr round trip, but if we were more local we would definitely go again!

One of the most enchanting castles I've seen in the UK so far. Its structure is well preserved and the grounds are dog-friendly. Great little cafe also!

Such a beautiful place to visit, cheap parking for all day (£3) although we were shocked we had to pay for a motorbike. Everywhere is clean and well kept. We loved the Halloween trail that was put on for the kids too. The staff in the cafe were friendly and helpful. I visited with my friend and her family who are vegan so we were pleased to see some options on the menu.

Incredible history and a very compact and interesting history, well looked after by English Hereitige. Little cafe and good parking.
