Thank goodness for YOFI We would have had nowhere to eat if it hadn't been for them. We were staying at a lovely cottage along the same bank. We hadn't been advised that the ferry was out of action (yet again!! apparently) We'd arrived and had a celebratory drink assuming we would use the ferry to go and eat at the pub across the river. Then we found the ferry wasn't in action, none of us could drive as we'd already had a drink - thank goodness for the YOFI which we used for the rest of our stay. Great location, great food, lovely staff ❤️

Had two visits to Ye Old Ferrie Inn while on a long weekend break in February. Got a warm welcome from the bar staff and also the locals. Would recommend the food here, including the Sunday roasts. Thank you for the great atmosphere and wonderful views of the Wye River. Would love to visit you again when in the area.

Lovely place to stay: spent two nights here in Doward room. Beautiful views of River Wye: quiet and peaceful, comfortable room. Food is really great quality, service is exceptional. All staff were welcoming, friendly, attentive and very professional in their work.

Lovely pub and restaurant. Right on the river. Very dog friendly. Good range of drinks and food. River crossing closed during the winter due to high water levels. We did not stay overnight so can't comment on the rooms.

My girlfriend and I recently visited Ye Olde Ferrie Inn for a nice Valentine's 2025 dinner, it exceeded expectations! I came here for dinner back in 2015 as a 13 year old, and am now 22 years old with a better memory of my meal. There is an amazing range of drinks on menu, as well as options for food. My girlfriend has the haddock, perfectly breaded and cooked, she loved the chips! I had the venison, a great, hearty meal accompanied with bread and butter. We shared the pigeon starter to try it, and then both wishes we had two servings of it each, it was absolutely amazing! Cannot fault the staff, service, food, drinks, location, and establishment, such a perfect night. We did not stay here so cannot rate the rooms! Though I'd love to give them a go!:)

Came here for lunch after a long walk as it was recommend by a local. Nice cosy pub, great view overlooking the river. Beer good, food good, prices very reasonable. Especially nice to see a selection of game on the menu.

This is a great place to come if you are visiting Symonds Yat. Always thriving in the summer and still quite lively the rest of the year. The food is great quality and the local gin is a very very nice touch.

This is a lovely pub that serves great food on the edge of the river. Very helpful staff and friendly making you feel at home. Well worth a visit if in the forest

Beef roast was a 6/10. No cauliflower cheese available, no camembert available. Service was really nice except when the waitress's mood completely changed from one of the nicest I've met in a long time to so grumpy.... please don't stare at the card machine and be stroppy because people don't tip. What am I tipping? I'd just paid £40 for a roast dinner and dessert and 2 drinks, and the food/service/venue was about right for the price point. You're in the Wye Valley, not LA. Left a sour impression, which was a shame.

Had a meal for 3 on Friday evening Starter and mains Starters fine Marcel Pate and Camembert Mains Venison Bourginon 2 off the dishes were delicious I couldn’t eat mine due to the amount of sinew and fat in the meat I did mention this at the end of the meal when returning an uneaten plate of food was greeted with an “oh okay” nothing more Bill was £120 for 3 and all I ate was a small bowl of fries at £4.50 a go So a mixed review if my meal had been rectified would have accepted this So very disappointed but with just the one meal

Fab lunch for two families. I expected solid pub grub and great views but the food far surpassed expectations. Great selection for adults and kids, 8 empty plates, great atmosphere and smooth service. Will definitely park here and go for a walk along the river next time.

Good food for most of the time, it can unfortunately be hit and miss, for example my worst meal here was a Sunday roast and the potatoes were clearly just reheated from the fridge and very cold inside. Little details are sometimes missed, ordered two coffees, only one comes with a biscuit. But I would say 80% of the time this is a good pub with good food and a great selection of gins and ales, great location and all the staff are always very polite, knowledgeable and helpful,I recommend a visit and we return regularly.

Booked a table for my family to eat here on NYE. We selected 6.15pm, and no time restraints were mentioned on the website. We arrived to be met with "you only have your table until 7.45". Not the leisurely meal we hoped to enjoy on NYE. We were seated in a very drafty corner of the pub, and given that we only had the table for a very limited time, I was surprised it took the staff over 15 minutes to come back and take our food order. I asked whether we should order at the bar and were told no, someone would come to us. The menu was limited but we all managed to find something we liked. The food was decent quality and price was top end. Whilst still eating dessert, a waitress came over to say they needed our table. She then appeared with the bill and card machine, and stood there whilst we finished. I would suggest the importance of highlighting how short a time you get at your table, on the website, and then if people want a leisurely meal they have the opportunity to book elsewhere. We did not have this opportunity, given that we'd already driven to the middle of nowhere, down a narrow track, on NYE when it was too late to book elsewhere or go anywhere else.
