We were very pleasantly surprised by this little (dog friendly) gem. I visited today with my Dad who has Dementia, my daughter & our French Bulldog Thor. The food was incredible and we had the best chocolate brownie we’ve ever tasted - this is not an exaggeration. The desserts took a little longer to arrive than expected…but they were 1 million percent worth the wait! Staff were lovely and everything was nice and clean.
The only thing that let this place down a little were the ladies toilets, they were absolutely freezing 🥶
We will definitely be coming back though 👍🏻 We want to try more on that menu 😋

A gorgeous country pub with a traditional range of beers and a warm welcoming fire ! The theme nights are an absolute must - having just enjoyed a game meat night - it did not disappoint. It’s quite clear the chef is passionate about his food ! Along with great staff and a clean well looked after establishment- this is a gem to have on our doorstep.

Warm friendly welcome, quality food at reasonable prices, good pint of Guinness too. All round very good, would visit again and have already recommended to some friends.

We enjoyed a very nice seniors lunch here with friends on Wednesday, the food was nicely presented and tasty. The seniors menu is smaller portions but ample for a lunch with a nice dessert at £9.95 for the two courses. The pub offers outside seating as well as a nice cool seating area inside. Can't fault this place and will definitely return .

We were in the area house hunting and went here for lunch as it's near to where we want to be.
The bar staff are lovely, so friendly and make you feel very welcome, I particularly like the comfy sofas and chairs, very homely.
Nice lunch, it was the Wednesday pensioners menu, and Coffee here is great.
Once we move from Hertfordshire we'll be in again.

Wonderful charming pub with a cosy, relaxed ambience, delicious food and very welcoming staff. We had our little Scottie dog in tow who received a bowl of water and snacks. Superb! The menu was great and we were very impressed with our meals. The service from all the staff was top notch, so thank you to all! 10/10.

Not many stars because we didn't eat but a nice little pub that serves food, but not on Mondays as per website. However google showed open so I phoned and they were actually open on the Bank Holiday Monday until 7pm so we enjoyed a couple of drinks. Food sign was out also so could have confuse anyone driving past then who may decide to stop for food and have no luck. Didn't affect us though as we had checked their website as per their recommendations to other reviewers and general public on here. The former beer barrels now urinals are neat as are the animal drawings in the dining area. All in all a nice visit.

5 of us dined, one of our party chose lite bites. They were all overcooked she told the waitress. Two of us had hot chocolate that wasn't, hot that is. Nothing was reduced in the bill. We won't be going again.

Six of us went for mid-week lunch.
The chicken drumsticks and filo prawns were all over- cooked.
5 bean chilli wasn’t very tasty.
The hot chocolate was luke warm.
