Very interesting place, far more to look at than I expected, the handheld devices giving information in every room are a great tool to use ,nice cafe and bookshop too, well worth a visit

Well worth a visit to see the Workhouse. A good view into the past and how it all worked. Far more open this visit so it was good to see the extra parts of the workhouse and hospital and how care over the years has changed.

Amazing place to visit with so much history and absolutely beautiful buildings. As you have access to multiple floors and lots of rooms, it felt like it might go on forever! The National Trust has done a great job with its restoration and our tour guide Jan was excellent.

An incredible place to visit, not what we expected at all. The volunteers that were in the rooms were all very knowledgeable. Highly recommend a visit

Thoroughly enjoyable day. The Grandchildren did the riddle trail and really enjoyed it.

A superbly well maintained 19th century workhouse. Well stocked with items of the day to give the sense of basic means and conditions that came hand in hand with being within the workhouse. Information and signage is very informative and it does a sterling job at educating and informing. Giving a great insight to what life was really like inside the workhouse, why they existed and the purpose of them. The site is really family friendly, for children of all ages but can be equally interesting to couples, single or groups of friends. Around the back is another building which is or was the infirmary, a real added bonus. Great facilities and parking. I highly recommend.

Excellent day out. Very interesting and the staff were very helpful. Particularly liked the outside guided tour, it put everything in perspective and it's place in history. Nice café for a drink and a cake too

Very interesting and learned some stuff I never knew, felt my age when walking into the 70s room seeing some familiar stuff from my childhood. Well worth the entrance fee and a visit

Lovely experience broadening knowledge of poor house conditions, rules and reasons people entered. Authentic atmosphere and feel about the building and grounds.
