Only stopped in for a drink, lovely comfy, clean place. Downside it's Adnams lack of choice and Southwold prices.

Myself and my husband went into the Swan for lunch. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and so kind to us. We had our 2 week old twins with us and all the staff were so kind to come over and speak to us about them and accommodate us with the pram. We had the most amazing lunch and it was the first time we'd be out with the babies. The food was incredible and we laughed and smiled throughout the whole meal. I want to praise the staff at the Swan for making the experience so calm and wonderful. We can't wait to come back again.

Afternoon tea was a lovely experience. Plenty of food to satisfy the hungriest. Service was needlessly slow. Took 45 minutes to be served savoury, sweet dishes 30 mins. We had to ask the kitchen if food was coming. It was not busy. One request I would have is to have a little more selection on black teas. I enjoyed peppermint to finish but I like to treat myself to Assam, Darjeeling and others. They only had Builders or Earl Grey.

What a beautiful, peaceful find!!! We felt spoilt for choice whether to soak in the beautiful tub with a nice glass of gin, or take a long therapeutic walk on the beach.... We did both... Loved it!

We stayed here on a Friday night,we arrived around 6.15pm and got the last car parking space in the main car park. There is free parking around the hotel.
The hotel is better than before,we had not been since the refurbishment and what a difference.
It has a lovely feeling about it,checking in was straightforward.
The room we had selected had a bath and a view overlooking the front. The room was very nice, plenty of electrical sockets to use, some hotels are very lacking in this.
The furnishings in the room were nice, with a decent TV hidden away.
A nice touch with the bottle of gin in the room to take away.
The toiletries were a good quality & smelt nice. The duvet was so comfy we didn't want to get up for breakfast,I'll glad we did as it was very tasty.
The only minor issue were the curtains which do not blockout the outside floodlight which does give light into the room,if this was rectified it would be perfect.
I did ask on checkout if there was a floodlight at the back and he said there was unfortunately.
We will definitely stay again, don't forget to do the Lighthouse Tour whilst in Southwold.

Enjoyed many birthdays in Southwold this was a simple lunch at the swan and told my partner how grand it was.
Lunch booked 2 @ 2pm
First impressions quiet just one other table
Sat by the other table very loud ladies ok
Asked for still water - took 35 minutes
Ordered drinks - took 45 minutes
2 mains ordered & side - over one hour
Impressions - bad food - veg cold over cooked. My butternut main was awful.
Staff asking on food ok - no
Staff asking for more drinks - no
Staff help to pay - no
Would we return - no
Made to feel welcome - no
We looked at each other and just said what a wasted experience & £80. Moved onto another venue in town to find hot food and a friendly welcome.

Visited today 30th October 2024. Booked for lunch in the main restaurant with a window table, enjoying High Street view.
Both the main A la carte and smaller lunch menu was available. The lunch menu was £25 for two courses.
The food was served like warm and some pieces only partly cooked. Very small portions but presented beautifully. A little short on Jus with both dishes. Both dishes tasted good.
There were numerous staff, slowly serving a part filled restaurant.

Food had was lovely. Used the lunch menu. Choice was excellent. Portion sizes however were small. I had to add seasonal vegetables to main meal to feel I had a fair portion size. Service was lovely and the ambience was good.

only came for drinks, i was in a group of 8 (7 guys) which isn't always loved by venues (we're all lovely but they don't know that). couldn't have had a nicer welcome and the tap room is amazing. wish we could have stayed longer. superb

VERY OVER RATED!!! The hotel was lovely, the staff reasonably friendly (although they didn’t look very happy in their work) and the location was good, however, the hotel has a car park at the rear, but fails to tell you that you’ll be very lucky to find a space!!!(Everyone we saw outside were moaning about it) Had I known that the nearest spot I would find was 1/4 mile away, I’d have booked somewhere else further from the town centre, but closer to my car, and for a lot less money. Also, 4 a.m seagulls (nature and the hotel cant do much about that, though I believe someone is feeding them as its madness) and 6 a.m crashing about in the Adnans brewery next door was disappointing. I’ve travelled about a lot and stayed at some very nice hotels, but I didn’t consider The Swan to be worth the £420 a night that we paid… more like £200.

Amazing food and drink.
Yet waited too long for orders to be taken even being the only people in. Our dessert drinks were brought out 15 minutes after dessert which were finished by the time they arrived.

Sat in the yard for a few rounds of drinks one afternoon and Jason on the bar was simply brilliant - he explained the beers, recommended tasting the cider and was all over lovely. Just how hospitality people should be.

Fabulous hotel in the heart of Southwold, but hey Seagulls are very noisy at night! Do they never sleep ?😅 we loved our mini break albeit a little sleep deprived. Good and service exceptionally good. Hotel is immaculate throughout and food outstanding. A Chef who cooks very well and knows his flavours. Imaginative food. Highly recommend this Hotel.

Went in for dinner at 8.30pm. Greeted by a friendly waitress who told us the restaurant was full but we could from the same menu in the bar and showed us through. We sat down and were roundly ignored for a few minutes by staff cleaning tables. Eventually, the barman wandered over with some menus, dropped them on the table, said “kitchen closes in ten minutes” and walked off.
We didn’t bother staying.
