Such a wonderful place, my husband took me here for my birthday, the food and service was excellent. On the night we went, they had a large party in one of their upstairs rooms and offered us free drinks upon informing us our the wait for our food would be a little longer than normal. We’ll definitely be back here again!

We hired one of the rooms upstairs for a joint birthday celebration and it was fantastic, the food was beautiful the staff were so friendly and helpful and the atmosphere Is perfect very relaxed.

Went for breakfast before we went on the local walks but was left disappointed. After taking our order the waitress came back after a few minutes to say they had no hollandaise sauce for the eggs Benedict. Given that they open for breakfast at 9am and we were there at 9.30am they shouldn’t be out of the sauce by then. The food we did have was fine and the service was friendly and fast. When I came to pay I noticed there was a £3.55 addition, when questioned I was advised that that was for the extra shot in my Latte as their Latte’s are only a one shot? This makes their two shot Latte a £7.65 drink which is extortionate. All the other places I go to a Latte is a two shot drink as standard. As a result we won’t be returning for a breakfast.

Family lunch,we were served by Emily, who was excellent. She was polite, efficient, and really knowledgeable regarding the menu and dishes available.
Can management please be vigilant regarding changing the flowers on the tables, dead daffs are not a good look.

Was not expecting a different menu for Sunday's which we didn't pick up on from the website. 3 of our party of 4 struggled to find choices on the limited menu. Food was ok! Requested a starter without garlic butter, as person has allergy , for it to be delivered swimming in a substitute why not plain as requested. Service was slow with food being served to individuals with delays for others at the table. Red wine was served almost chilled instead of room temperature. Can recommend the coffee. Sorry not going back. Very expensive for what we had.

Dined here for the first time last night for a family meal to celebrate two 50th birthdays. I am not often compelled to leave a review but this was top notch! The staff were very attentive, managed a large group well and very polite. They even gave the birthday boy/girl a glass of complimentary Prosecco each. The food was outstanding, clearly quality produce and delicious. Very much looking forward to dining here again.

Such a pleasant place to enjoy a good quality meal with friends. There are so many different areas inside to make your meal special. Staff attentive and friendly. Toilets immaculately clean!

Visited for a second time today and have to say I have not been overly impressed on either visit.. Food is not bad but not good either.
On the plus side our young waiter today was really polite & helpful.

First time here and was very happy we had the Sunday menu... roast lamb and the cheese pie ..both were very nice and a reasonable price there was a good selection of beer the staff were very helpful and friendly the pub is very spacious and comfortable will definitely be making this venue a regular.

We often share special occasions at the Roe Deer including brunch.
Today we had brunch. The food was OK, although the fried and poached eggs were a little solid, my partner had requested runny eggs.
Disappointing drinks. The tea was luke warm and the coffee ok, but I had to request my hot milk for the coffee twice and it was lukewarm. We asked for further hot water to warm the drinks up, which was delivered in 2 open jugs, which quickly cooled.
We mentioned this when asked if everything was OK.
We were told "Yes" they knew the hot drinks were not hot enough due to the water boiler they were using. Mmm?
So why serve the drinks? Or why not let the customer know this before they ordered them?
Or endeavour to do better e.g. boil a kettle?
Or just refund the money to the customer?
Best not to spoil someone's expensive breakfast, they were looking forward to (money doesn't grow on trees) and a good reputation.
