Rooms and facilities were immaculately clean. Staff are very genuine and helpful, clearly enjoy their work and care about your stay. Food was delicious and exceeded our expectations

A regency period country house hotel which retains some of the original features with some modern additions to the rear adding extra space for function rooms and a plethora of bedrooms. Friendly staff and excellent evening food, breakfast was also a delicious treat. I understand that they also source the ingredients from local suppliers. Large spacious bedroom room and bathroom although the décor was a little dated but fitted our need perfectly.

my beautiful HOTEL with extremely helpful staff, however given the huge rooms a double bed was uncomfortable

Went here 6th September to 8th September, for my daughters wedding. We arrived Friday evening and booked in. Our room was very nice, a large bedroom and an equally large bathroom. The bedroom had a king-size bed, bedside cabinets and a couple of chairs, a desk and chair, tea and coffee and sundries, and a proper kettle. The one thing I did notice was that there weren't any drawers, and the only clothes hanging was in a cupboard in the bathroom, which also had an ironing board and iron in it. The bathroom had a bath, shower cubicle, wash basin, and a very ornate toilet and bidet.

Large comfortable room, excellent hot shower with good water pressure, very clean. Best however was the staff especially the lovely woman at the reception desk.

Staff very friendly and helpful. A beautiful old house in a lovely location, conveniently situated for M4 heading south. Food was delicious, albeit a little pricey. The sirloin steak wax excellent & cooked perfectly. Breakfast should be served from 7am, not 8 as we had to leave at 7:30 so missed out.

Mooi Landhotel in een rustige omgeving, maar toch dicht bij grote wegen zoals de M4. Goede locatie om een aantal dagen door te brengen om bijv. de Cotswolds en Bath te bezoeken.

Such a beautiful hidden gem! Met there with a friend for a coffee, ended up having delicious afternoon tea. Service was outstanding. Ladies taking care of us were super kind, professional and caring and honestly made us want to come back there!

Very poor. Carb heavy. No little pastries or meringues. No choice of type of tea ie. We thought 'builders'.no assam, earl grey etc. Very heavy cakes and quite cold as if made and stored in fridge. Rather lumpen. No choice of jam. So much carb quite indigestible. Prosecco £8.25 a glass. At payment my card rejected as strip had damaged ( bill £70 for two). I said I'd go to cashpoint 200 yards up the road. Staff said I'd have to leave a 'valuable' behind! We live 2 miles from them. I have run courses there and we are in our 60's. I said 'no'..not leaving wedding ring or watch. So they followed me to my car and took a photo of my registration plate!! Such a horrible experience. I'd offered to log on from phone and do a bank transfer righ there and then but staff said 'Chef says no'! I emailed owner and asked him to call me, as had not left review...wanted to speak to him first...however he never rang. So this is my review. Poor quality..suggest it is advertised as a 'Builders Tea' and not a Cream Tea. It had been lovely there in Feb 2023 when 14 of us celebrated my birthday with a cream tea. So am sad to leave this but don't go expecting anything dainty. I have photos if anyone wants them.

This was the location chosen by a supplier to deliver some product training and what a really nice first impression as you pulled into the car park. I cannot comment on the quality of the rooms as I was staying at another location locally, but the staff and organisation could not be faulted. The food supplied throughout was good and plentiful, with the vegan members of the group adequately catered for as well.

Decent rooms for the rate, although the bath and windows (very hard to open) need refurbishing. At restaurant, starters were better than mains (really bland) and service was a little slow (i.e. waitress was inattentive at times) although there were only three people eating in total. Breakfast was good, salt and pepper saved the scrambled eggs.

First time staying on business, have usually stayed at Alexandria as I travel with my dogs, it can be hard to find truly 'pet friendly' hotels but Chiselden does meet the bill on that note, the dogs were met with a fuss on arrival and permitted to walk the grounds. Lovely modern yet still inkeeping room with shared balcony overlooking the garden. Highly recommend, will be staying again soon.

Just had a single night stay and was very impressed. The room we stayed in was very large overlooking lovely garden...clean warm and tidy with ever you need and massive comfortable bed. The staff are top notch..polite and helpful without a fault. The evening meal and breakfast was top quality. All on all a fantastic stay at a reasonable price..wexwill definitely be returning.

We went for dinner on Valentines Day and had a delightful experience. The food was amazing with enough variety for all, the staff were pleasant and considerate and the cost was reasonable. All this added together made for a lovely evening. Thank you all x

Do NOT eat at the restaurant if you have any dietary requirements/allergies. After confirming they could cater for me before hand and even double checking the morning of the meal that my meal was fully gluten free. The restaurant served me a 'gluten free' burger which contained wheat, barley and oats. Staff serving had no clue about the food they 'just serve what the kitchen give them', had no understanding of how this would affect me as a coeliac. One member of staff asked me if I had 'severe coeliac or not'. No apology either. I dread to think what would happen if someone with severe allergies came to eat here! Very disappointing, not safe for people with dietary requirements, staff are dishonest, uneducated and frankly don't seem to care what affect this can have on customers. Had to take 2days off work due to severe gastric issues.

Needs updating, decor-wise. I could hear the TV and voices from the room next door, and the food and drink were expensive (£35 for paté followed by a turkey Christmas main, and £6 for a beer)

Very nice place food was very nice only issue was that it was really hot in the room would recommend it could do with a fan in the bathroom to remove the condensation
