If you like your history pal, then this place is well worth a butchers! At just under £10 for admittance we have had a blast of a time. The place absolutely stinks of Anglo saxons and of wealth and knowledge. Upon entry the knowledgable attendant showed us the witch marks and small writing in the glass windows in the courtyard. We then went in the dungeon and my god it was a little bit smelly in there, I reckon a kid had just been in, farted and done a runner, either that or the stocks stunk of death from the year 1700! It's definitely well worth a look round both the castle and surrounding area where we also found an air raid shelter. All these places are fantastic and should be preserved. Also had nice little dressing up outfits in some of the rooms for kids to have a picture in and the roof is a fantastic view of the local area. Watch out for the local heron, he was swooping trying to carch a fish or 2 in the river surrounding the park. Keep up the good work tamworth castle my son 👍

Loved games (giant snakes and ladders) and the activities on the interactive board. Dressing up as a Saxon or a Knight was really fun as the costumes looked like real ones and in very good condition. The story of the sword film was really interesting and a great introduction to the rest of the exhibition. As we visited during Xmas time, the temporary xmas Carols displays were well thought. We stayed more than two hours. Saxon period was definitely the best one with kids. Would be great if the rest of the castle was as educative to learn about other historic periods.

Not been here for 20 years but I will be back again alot sooner. Its around £10 to enter but a few concessions are also available. It's a small Castle in comparison to others but there is plenty to see. From the moment you enter there are interactive tools to.use as well things to try on like armour and head gear. The kids will love it. Also plenty of information both of the history of the area and Castle itself. All written in plain English .There are guides here to answer your questions too. There is a small coffee and gift shop at the end of the tour. If you have any walking difficulties then perhaps this place isn't for you. There are a number of steps to climb so be warned. In the centre of the towns there are plenty of places to eat if you want to make a day of it.Not to be forgotten there are a few parts from the Staffordshire Hoard on show just to add to the whole experience.

Много добре запазен и реставриран средновековен замък. Ние го посетихме след Хелоуин и бяхме приятно изненадани от аранжирането на стаите. Препоръчвам!

I visited this🏰 castle and park lots of times and escorted some of my EFL (European and International) students. It's always been a really good day It's a small 🏰 castle (rich in history) and the tour guides were always very informative and motivating

Once the capital of Mercia! It now has some interactive bits for the kids, fascinating history facts, great and helpful staff and some great views from the top.

This is an interesting old castle that has great views ofvthe local area. It has plenty of information boards to explain the history of the location and the items on show.
