Had a bad experience here with one of the servers. She went to attend to 2 other customers whilst serving my wife and I. The manager was very apologetic but the damage was already done!!

We went between 5.40 and 6pm food was lovely however the mac and cheese was hard its better at oulton, the peas were like bullets i ordered the veggie option so i was gutted that it wasn't soft enough. The server jess was lovely she was very accomodating thank you.

Nice pub and excellent service. Prices are good. Im sure food was ok but tbh its not my thing. My partner said its not as good as it normally is so im not sure.

Spontaneous meal out, decided to go to Toby, Denby Dale Road, Wakefield and so glad we did. Food was delicious, staff were lovely, especially our server, James. Such a good vibe coming from him, it made the evening.

China made our experience extra special , even tho today was a very busy day and our table was late she made sure we was attended to. Well done she deserves a medal... And a pay rise !!

A lovely stop off on our way home last Sunday for a carvery. Lovely meat selection and plenty of vegetables on offer to suit all tastes! Finished off with a food selection not condiments! Served by a very friendly waitress where nothing seemed too much trouble!

Sat behind us, swearing and shouting about sex. Don't go for food, with my wife to listen to things like that.. The manager and waiter fully took my comments on board, so fair enough .

Quality of the meat has dropped. Beef seems to be 50% fat last few visits, lamb wasn't much better today. Would be nice if they could portion the meat according to how lean it is rather than just a certain number of slices. Would expect better quality considering the weekend prices.

Really good lunch at Toby Wakefield today. The staff are so helpful and friendly. Would recommend. We took our grandchildren and they really enjoyed it.

Despite booking a table in advance didn't really get no further than the front desk, it was an extremely long wait, and it was the same even getting to the bar.
The crowd building was unbearable
which unfortunately made us go elsewhere plus didn't enjoy walking through a bellow of smoke in the doorways despite signs for no smoking in the area people did.
Not in a rush to try again.

Usually great food and great staff however we did experience one miserable staff member on Sunday 16/2/25 that did put us of returning unfortunately we are regulars but will not be returning due to one member of staff if that’s the treatment you get from them I’ll leave it other than him this would of been a full 5 stars

First, I would like to give Dale a really big thank you for providing what has got to be the BEST customer service myself and my family have ever had. My grandad is pretty disabled and struggles to walk, so my mum and I usually help him out when we come to Toby. Dale didn’t even hesitate to help out, he opened the line up so my grandad didn’t have to walk round, which made it much easier for my grandad to access the carvery. The thing that absolutely knocked it out of the park for me though was that he not only carried my grandads plate back for him (what my mum usually does) he even took ahold of my grandad and helped walk him back to the table, this was without hesitation. These actions showed so much care and kindness and we are so grateful that Dale was so lovely! I believe he is a truly conscientious person and a true asset to the Toby team. This meant the everything to us as a family and will not soon be forgotten. Thank you so much to Dale and Kaitlyn for being such wonderful members of staff. Truly outstanding!

Customer service very nice and polite. We were in the evening and although not everything was available there was still a lot of food to choose from. The service heated and added fresh vegetables and everything especially for us, because we were their last customers that day. Everything was delicious, fresh and the service was brilliant. We will definitely go back there.
