We have been coming here for years. Food always brilliant. Staff very good. Walk down by the rainbow trout stream great. You drive through it to get there.

First visit to the Royal oak. We had the lunch time special the roast beef, it was one of the best meals we've had in a long time. We will return next time in the area

Used the booth in the garden for a meeting space. Heaters made it a very useable space whilst affording privacy, the Timothy Taylor beer was a bonus.

Really can't fault the service and the staff. However, the food was disappointing. The chips look fantastic but taste of nothing - we both thought they same. I had the lasagne which again was quite bland. Sad to say we won't be returning.

Just as an fyi for anyone not local to the area, the Sunday lunch is only available from 12-2.30pm which the website doesn’t state. Me and my wife booked specifically for a Sunday roast during our weekend away, the website advising Sunday restaurant times were 12-3 and 5-8.30, only when we were seated and viewed the menu did it say Sunday roasts were only 12-2.30. Appreciate its not the biggest issue but we would have booked elsewhere had we known roasts weren’t available (all lunchtime slots were fully booked when I booked it) main menu food was ok and the location and pub itself are lovely but it did put a bit of a downer on an otherwise amazing weekend in the area. Hopefully they will update the website to make this known and clear in the future.

Our favourite local, beautiful location, fabulous outside seating, great play area. Lovely food, the duck and pancake starter was gorgeous. First class beer, as always, wonderful night celebrating a friend's birthday.

What a fantastic meal we as an extended family we had. The service was great, polite. Friendly and courteous staff, the food was presented well and tasted really good, the steak I had was perfectly cooked, the chips you could tell them were hand cooked and tasty. The sweet, white chocolate and raspberry cheese cake was one of the best I have eaten for a long time. The other 5 who ate with us, one needing glutton free, agreed the food and service were great. (Sorry about the photo we started eating before remembering)

What a beautiful pub restaurant, a totally amazing mix of new and modern. My party of 6 dined here this evening and the experience was totally awesome. Superb food served by very smart and helpful waitresses made the experience one of pure delight. Driving into the car park was an experience in itself, having to negotiate a ford rushing across the road, fantastic.
