Free parking, can get very busy. There is a great play park with toilets and a trail with lots of interesting sculptures and a long trail for walikg. I don't think bikes are allowed

Beautiful location! We've visited Hillsborough Castle & Gardens on a number of occasions & always make sure to explore the themed events. During our trip today we met with Santa. There was an efficient system in place for meeting with Santa after having been designated a number & able to enjoy the activities on offer during the short wait. Santa was amazing with the children & there was time allowed for plenty of photos! All staff members are lovely but there is 1 lady in particular whom I've seen at each visit & she is exemplary - wears glasses with short shoulder length strawberry blonde hair.

Visited on a Wednesday having bought a Gardens only ticket online. Walked through the beautiful gardens on The Twelve Days of Christmas trail. Few people that day and I loved many of the displays. The grounds are well kept and the Christmas displays made it extra festive. I felt very calm from my few hours there. Cafe and shop onsite. You can access the grounds either by car from the A1 or as a pedestrian from Hillsborough Village.

We visited the castle and the gardens today and we also saw Santa. We were so happy at our visit! The tour in the castle was absolutely amazing and all staff were very welcoming and nice. The person who was ‘Santa’ was so kind and honestly they couldn’t have picked anyone better. We also had a bite in the restaurant and the food was very delicious. Thank you for this amazing experience before Xmas!

This is an extremely well maintained and pleasant place to visit.
There are plenty of walks suitable for all mobility levels.
If you enjoy wildlife, you may be lucky enough to see Grey Herons, Mute Swans, Jays, Moorhens, Coots and Kingfishers.
We've previously visited the Christmas Lights Festival in 2021, which , in my opinion, was an expensive but pleasant experience.
In December 2024, The Twelve Days of Christmas displays were nicely laid out, too.
There is plentiful parking immediately off the A1 road (southbound).
The cafe and shop are good and the staff very helpful.
Toilets are available in a number of places.
Dogs are not allowed entry unless they are "Assistance/ Guide Dog"
In my opinion, the entry fee is expensive, but as a one-off treat, it is worth it. If feasible or if you are a regular visitor, the annual pass is very good value and also gives free entry to The Tower of London, Kensington Palace and Hampton Court Palace. This is a great option if you are visiting Northern Ireland and London.
Overall, I would highly recommend visiting here.

Even in the snow, a walk around the gardens is beautiful. I will definitely go back in the summer. 100acres is a lot to explore in a day. Our guided tour of the castle was very interesting and the cafe and shop are well worth a visit.
