We did the Historic Underground tour and Veni was our guide. She was great! When you are in Edinburgh and interested in history, you should really visit the Vaults with Mercat tours, we learned a lot.

Went on the Underground Ghost Tour with Shannon and it was amazing - she was very immersive and a brilliant storyteller. Definitely worth the money, especially if you're into the spooky 👻

Fantastic tour of the Edinburgh vaults today! Our tour guide Roger was warm and enthusiastic as well as very knowledgeable. The history of the building of the vaults and then the use of the vaults until they were cleared was fascinating. I have always wanted to know more about the 'underground city' in Edinburgh but am not keen on the idea of a haunted tour, not a fan of the spooky stuff! This tour hit the mark exactly, family of 3 including a very hard to please 12 year old had a great time. Highly recommend.

Had a great time! Mercat tours have loads of different kinds of tours depending on what kind of experience you’re wanting. We did the underground vaults tour - the historic version guided by Roger - and it was great. Roger was very kind, informative and a great story teller. I would 100% recommend, and there’s a ghost focused tour of the vaults if that’s your thing!

We did a tour together with guide Mike. You get headphones to make sure you can keep up with everything en he shows you a lot of things during the tour together with the vaults. Really interesting to see the city in a different way and Mike had a really impressive way of telling stories!

We did the ghost tour around the old Town and underground vaults and the guide was extremely engaging and informative. Quite a bit of walking but plenty of stops between locations. The option of a Whisky (or other drink of choice), to calm the nerves at the end was a nice touch and we got to sit around and old tavern and hear more spooky stories. Staff were very helpful and accommodating and would highly recommend.

Incredible experience at the Edinburgh Underground Vault Tour with Steph today. As a local, this experience was long overdue and did not disappoint. Steph was absolutely wonderful and kept us engaged on a very cold Saturday afternoon. We can’t wait to book other tours. 5 stars!

Mark was an engaging storyteller and the tour was a good combination of historical and entertainment! The equipment was quality and very clean, I would recommend mercat tours to any friends who visit Edinburgh

Superb experience in the vaults. This was one of our main draws to Edinburgh. On arrival we was given a headset which was great quality and we could hear clearly. Although it was risking the guide took us in various alleys to shelter from the rain which she explained about the town. We then headed down to the vaults and was down there for best part of 40/45 mins. At the end we was left in the Discovery room and told we could spend as much time as we wanted in that room so didn’t feel pressured to leave. Our guide was Nicola who was brilliant and explained so much. We chatted to her at the end and she was very happy to answer all our questions. Extremely knowledgeable!
The tour wasn’t overcrowded there was about 10 of us which felt comfortable for all the rooms we went into.

The “Doomed, dead, and buried” tour was a fantastically eerie tour that took us down into the vaults under the city, as well as down the Royal Mile. We were told tragically gruesome stories that not only sent a chill down your spine, but also gave image of what life might have been like hundreds of years ago in old Edinburgh. The tour was definitely made so great because of our tour guide, Anastasia. She presented us with an immersive experience that really pulled you back in time to the dark history of Edinburgh. Especially down in the vaults, when she recounted on the story of “The Watcher…” Her story telling skills added so much more depth to the tour. It was an experience that was definitely worthwhile. Now, when I walk down the streets of Edinburgh, I have a cool piece of history that adds to the experience.

Having Fiona as our tour guide was awesome! She really brought the history to life. Really fun and authentic. I was a bit scared at first to try this kind of tour, but I am SO happy I did. I learned a lot and got to see really unique things. I would recommend everyone this tour

We took the underbridge tour with the sweetest guide ever Veni, not only was she fun but had the most understandable English (mind That I’m spanish speaker) she was kind enough to explain everything to detail. If you have the chance definitely do the tour with them.

We booked two tours with them when we were in Edinburgh - "Historic Underground" and "Secrets of Edinburgh's Royal Mile" including the castle tour and we loved both. Our tour guide Linda was amazing.

Fraco e decepcionante. Fizemos eu e minha familia o passeio "Condenado, Morto e Enterrado". A performance da narradora foi excelente, mas o passeio péssimo. Por mais de duas horas ela apenas ficou contando historias pelas ruas da cidade. Pense bem antes de cair nessa como nós caímos.
