This is an amazing place too visit,it has parking usually 2 or 3 pounds too leave but sometimes the barrier is up and you can come and go as you please,the paths too main area is along side a miniature steam train which unfortunately isn't on ATM, path is well maintained for people with disabilities I'm sure you can still drive your car too the main house but I'm not sure this is still allowed,better walking from carpark anyway so many things too explore and locate,it's almost like treasure hunting then after the kiddies park and multiple ponds there are giant woods to explore with your dogs 🐕 which will love all the woods 🪵 smells , it's a beautiful place too explore and you will find something new on every visit, your also allowed to enter the main house,not sure if it's open too the public at all times but when events are on I was allowed in with others leaving as I went in, go and explore brilliant 👏

Been coming here since I was a child, and I could still get lost in the woods. Lots of places and tracks to explore.

We were at a specific event on this occasion, all laid on for free by Midlothian Council. It really was a terrific afternoon with lots of good choices and things to do. The kids were all kept entertained, which is increasingly difficult as they get older, wherever screens aren’t involved!
I’ve attended similar events where we’ve paid £30 per person, so a huge thanks to the Council for this.
Aside from all that, it’s a great place to visit at any other time, with lots of green space to explore and a fun play park.

Nice walk on a cool damp day. Parking was reasonable and the walks were not over strenuous. Beautiful surroundings
