Try to go into the Visitor Centre first if you can. It tells the true story of the Battle of Culloden and not some misguided tale. The immersive room is well worth a look.
The battlefield itself is very atmospheric with memorial stones for the Clans that died there. The Clan Fraser stone is currently fenced off as the grass around it has been worn away by Outlander fans. Still, it brings the visitors in I suppose.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Culloden Battlefield.
We paid to enter, which gives you access to the impressive information centre and a guided tour of the Battlefield. ( I believe you can wander the battlefield without paying)
Our tour was led by guide, Chloe and she really bought the history alive. There is a lot of history to cover and she made it alive and accessible. The tours leave at the top of the hour.
There is a cafe (with toilets) onsite and a large car park.

Visited from Australia today. Far too cold and windy to visit outdoors. Paid for the museum instead. Culloden history very well presented. Easy access, very helpful and friendly staff. Clean bathrooms, large cafe with good choices. Very worthwhile visit.

Haut lieux historique de l'écosse, le musée est très intéressant et complet avec un audio guide en français permettant d'en apprendre énormément sur cette bataille décisive.

Musée très intéressant et détaillé avec des objets bien conservé.
Seule bémol c’est de devoir payé un billet plus cher pour accéder au champ de bataille (qui est accessible du parking ce qui est un peu dommage)

Si te gusta la historia, imprescindible, imaginar lo que paso alli es impresionate, eso si ves documentado, si no lo haces o no te gusta la historia es una explanada con donde se llevo a cabo una batalla inportantisima, con alguna casa y algun memorial a los clanes.

Lots information in the visitors centre,perhaps too much for me to absorb. Only downside was that the various audio screens were at a volume too low to be heard, and my hearing isn't particularly bad. Immersive video was good. Child's hunt was actually challenging and made you really think.

Had a great visit to Culloden! Shout out to James who took us on an excellent tour outside around the battlefield. Learnt a lot from him!
