The Tomich Hotel

We stayed three nights at the Tomich Hotel to be close to the hiking in Glenn Affric and it was the perfect location to base camp out of for our stay. The weather was quite variable in August so we liked being close to home when the weather would inevitably turn. Glenn Affric is very quiet, we saw very few people in the best way possible and likewise enjoyed the calm of The Tomich Hotel. We were thankful for the pack lunches the hotel chef prepared for us and for hot breakfast in the morning AND dinner in the evening. There is not a lot of other dining nearby so it was nice that everything could be taken care of food wise right at the Hotel. (The cafe next door has wonderful sandwiches and soups in the morning / early afternoon.) If you like peace and quiet and being on the doorstep of incredible scenery and hiking, this is the perfect place for you.

Wonderful spot to stay overnight. Lovely host in Peter. Super bit of grub. Loved being here with all the history of the area. Fabulous.

Not lot of choice for vegetarians. Had to have a starter doubled up as a main. 2 "slabs" of goats cheese with dots of mint sauce and bread and butter. Our friends said there's was very mediocre. Tired surroundings.

We visited for an evening meal in this amazing location. Whilst the food was beautiful, the drinks selection was very limited - none of the pumps in use and an empty fridge behind the bar. It was quite expensive.

Went for a beer with my dogs in their yard after our hike at glen affric. Awesome beer, great service and the owner gave me a beautiful route to take home that my map didn’t suggest, I guess it’s the locals route.

Charmant “petit hôtel”, un peu vieillot, à l’accueil chaleureux. nous y avons très bien dîné, et le petit déjeuner était bon et copieux.

If you love nature, this is your base for incredible hikes and spectacular scenes, from the nearby Plodda falls (and the groves of towering Douglas Fir, Grand Fir and Redwoods) to Glen Affric with its stunning loch and ancient Caledonian pinewoods within the Nature Preserve. The hotel itself is comfortable, somewhat modest, and very close to these natural wonders. The staff is friendly, the food remarkably good, and the rooms are comfortable.

Wonderful stay in nice place. Lovely place but slightly tired looking. Clean and comfortable though. Super food and nice atmosphere. Location is great for exploring Glen Affric.

Absolute joke of a place ridiculous food menu, quality of food disgusting sausages tasted like soap, chips were the worst chips ever tasted, prices out of this world for what you get, aged place owner clearly uses the location and accessibility to other places as an advantage. Making money of off the drinks only.and kitchen open for two hours in the evening… in our opinion they shouldn’t cook..! Avoid and look at different locations as food locations round there is none.

Lovely little hotel run by a helpful, nice family. Cosy room, spotlessly clean, lovely bathroom products. Was at the end of the season so food menu was a little limited but the fayre was good home cooking.

Uitbater nam de tijd. Schatte ons goed in en kwam uit zichzelf met wat losse ponden als wisselgeld voor de parkeerplaats bij de watervallen. Fijn als iemand inzicht heeft in z'n klanten. Koffie en taartje was ook nog eens goed.

Shocking place masquerading as a hotel. I’d stayed here numerous times in the past so called in when passing for a quick drink. On arrival I noticed the main reception room was full of junk, baby stuff and more junk. There’s no way you’d sit in it. A woman with glasses was at reception. She glared at us. We asked can we get a drink. She was curt in reply and nodded to bar. Bar was empty on a Saturday. It was dirty looking with cobwebs etc. No draught available at all. Bar fridge devoid of drinks too. A friendly local girl swerved us. Very pleasant young girl. We looked at the menu and it literally had a few items. You’d be hard pressed to dine off it if staying and £38 for a steak. 😂 On leaving I saw the dining area full of kids toys. It looks like 1/2 hotel, 1/2 house. I then looked at all the amazing wonderful reviews it’s had recently and it’s quite clear the owners are somehow garnering false reviews to prop up ratings. I don’t normally leave bad reviews but this place is so far removed from how it used to be that I had to.

Great place to Stay - we visited Plodda Falls and stayed there with the 2 dogs. Fab stay! lots of space in the bedroom. Lady that owns it will give loads of advice on places near by. :)

Passed the tomich hotel looking for a coffee break on our way to plodda falls. A sweet young lady with a baby invited us in and showed us seating area. The coffee was great and so where the scones and cake. The interior may be outdated but the ambiance was superb, service 10/10 Would really recommend

I ordered a vegan burger, and it was the absolute worst, got served a dry bun, and a dry vegan beef that tasted like cat food. Nothing else in the bun, not even dressing or salad. Sad to say I’m very disappointed, I had my hopes up for this cozy looking restaurant.
