Dark Space Planetarium

Very good experience. I was lucky because I was the only visitor on a rainy, out of season morning and got a personalised presentation by a very knowledgeable astronomer. The only negative for me is that the seats are not very comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

Great facility for education, but not many of my neighbours and friends were aware of it. I'll pass on information.

We went in winter and it was still open until other activities places. We was there about an hour for 2 adults so if you have children you might be there longer. It looks small but everything is very interactive with games and experiences so you end up staying longer. There is parking right outside the door. It has disabled spaces and an electric car charging point. I don’t think it has motor home car parking but you can park on the street. It was half price in November so only £12 for the both of us. They say it gets very busy in summer so you can book online.

Good show / presentation inside the viewing room, knowledgeable staff. Half price in the winter months so £6 to kill an hour or two if you play with all the interactive games

What a fabulous place. The staff are terrific with the kids. Lots of activities to do and the film and talk was super fun and educational. I have a 5 and 6 year who were entertained for a good 3 hours.

A truly fantastic experience! Michael was knowledgeable, funny, and engaging with his presentation in the planetarium, allowing our group space to ask questions and chat through the mysteries of the cosmos. 110% will be going back!!!!

Absolutely brilliant. For two toddlers (one currently obsessed with space), this was really engaging. Exhibits are all in one large room but all really high quality and interactive. Laura was fantastic in talking us through the exhibits and the planetarium display which was very high quality, there are bean bags which are ideal for younger children to lie down. If you need a wet weather option for the area (highly likely!) then I would strongly recommend.

Memorable visual experience with very interesting personal --not recorded-- interacive commentary. Only slightly spoiled by slight out of focus projection at edge of ceiling screen, caused by recent accidental damage. Exhibition is small but has its attractions. Tickets should be bought in advane

More for children but I liked it. It is expensive for such a small place. This is more for children but I liked it, especially the animated movie at the end

Great to have this in a small town. Good mix of fun and informative exhibits that are pitched right for school-age children. Short film and talk also very good. Feels fresh & modern throughout!

A fun little planetarium with a nice active little exhibit outside - really good for engaging the kids. The show had a couple of minor factual errors, but a slick show and a good presenter.

Cracking little interactive exhibit and planetarium show. Lots of buttons to press and little videos to watch. 8yrs and 12yrs both really enjoyed it as did 40yr old daddy! The show was about 45mins, child friendly but also interesting and engaging as an adult. Comfy chairs and also a beanbag area for little ones to lie down and look up. We parked at the harbour car park and walked along the road 10 mins to get there but it did have some parking of its own. There aren't many seats in the planetarium so although we didn't book and got in fine if you expect it to be busy (Bank Holidays maybe) I would book in advance.

A super time at the Planetarium with my 5 year old son. Some very engaging exhibits, though some of them are due some maintenance. The staff were enthusiastic and the Planetarium talk and film were top quality. Reclining seats would put the polish on this great experience!
