Whilst in Aberystwyth on a Sunday with my family and dog we really fancied a roast dinner for lunch. Let me tell you, The Glengower will not disappoint. The pub is on the seafront and opened at 12. We got there just after and it was already filling up. We were greeted by a lovely Irish lady who got us seated quickly. The pub inside is immaculate and has a very warm homely feel. The menu was extensive but the roasts were what we wanted. You get what you pay for and at 17.95 for a roast I thought it was pricey until it came out and then I realised why. I should have took a photo but didn’t, I just wanted to eat. Quality and quantity was perfect. Staff were friendly and service was also excellent. Dog was welcomed and offered a bowl of water. All I can say is just try it, you will not be disappointed.

Very rude owner and staff the way they spoke to me was shocking wouldn't recommend and I will never give them my custom again even though I was polite the owner spoke to me like something on the bottom of his shoe

Ate here on the recommendation of a couple of different friends.
Simply put, it's the best "pub meal" I've had in years.
The menu had the staples of burgers, steak, fish and chips, but we went for other dishes.
Starters of Cockles with Pancetta and Pea Soup were absolutely stunning.
Mains of Chorizo, Squid and New Potato Salad and Ham, Eggs and Chips were perfect.
The food was hot too. So many places these days serve up lukewarm food.
Service was quick and efficient, servers with smiles on their faces.
Drinks were good, a lovely glass of Albarinho and the Butty Bach was very well kept.
Worth a 6th star! ✨

Ate twice at the restaurant when we visited, both were excellent.
Had the Korean swordfish on the first visit which was great.
Followed up a few days later with the Sunday roast. The beef and gravy were beautiful with good roasties and a selection of veg. Good selection of wines too.
Service was exemplary.

Stopped in for a Lunch at their Restaurant. Did not do a stay at their Hotel.
They do not do Table Service but insists on ordering for Service by making your Orders with the Bartender at the Bar.
If you try doing a Call for Service from your Table, they will Rudely Ignore you. So a bit of the Worst Service I have had in years at such a place.
Ordered a Welsh Steak ordering Medium Rare but it came done to Rare to slightly Blue Rare instead. On a good point, the Two Onion Rings were Perfect to the Crispyness that you can get.

Rooms very dated up steep narrow stairs - No lift. Car parking on promenade risky with storms. No help carrying case for elderly.
