Lovely castle. Plenty of walk to do. Kids play area, nice walking paths, lots of squirrels.

Went to see a band play there. Seemed fine, good parking. Some of my comments on the waiting times and other things are a little unfair as they were probably 3000 people there, that said no problem with toilets, bars or food

Beautiful walks, very scenic. Was going to use these as my wedding venue, we put the deposit down and then due to circumstances way out of my control (but we’ll within the ex grooms) the wedding was cancelled. Unfortunately the deposit was non refundable despite the booking being 18 months away. That’s the only reason I’ve deducted a star because really compassion would’ve been greatly appreciated in that situation.

Caldicot castle was brilliant, day time is very good. However we went there in the night via a company called haunted houses we did a ghost hunt there and it did not disappoint. Large areas to look at and go in. beautiful castle. Would recommend anyone who loves castles to go see this one.

A nice place for a walk with plenty of routes available. The castle itself is impressive and photogenic and in autumn there are plenty of trees offering a range of colours. I wasn't aware of 'The Vanishing Lake' that appears each winter and makes a lot of marker footpaths impassable. Visited a few days after Storm Bert so the lake was larger than usual and added some nice views. There were also swans and two egrets nearby on the water. There is a play park for kids and plenty of benches dotted around for resting if you've walked too far. You can follow easy and flat routes down to the coast path as well, offering nice views of the second severn bridge.

Haven’t been inside but visited Caldicot Castle for the annual fireworks show hosted here. The castle was a beautiful backdrop for the event and what remains of the castle is in great condition. Definitely want to return and see inside at some point.

Went for the escape alive event. We were asked to park in a place that was blocking other cars and also had our boot sticking out and when we asked to move we were told there were no other spaces, despite there being an open area just behind us. As soon as you entered the grounds you had to join the massive queue. People were sent through in groups of 10 but our group of 4 were tagged onto the back of a 10 in front of us. Scares at the start and end were very good but the middle was underwhelming, especially because we caught up to the group ahead and didn’t have enough space for us all to stand in some of the areas. The bar staff were very friendly and food was very nice, although expensive. Tarot reader was no where to be seen which was disappointing.

Great venue and free to enter. Exploring the towers with the family was alot of fun. There's a nice sheltered seating area, café and the grounds are vast for walking around.

Charming and Convenient Castle Experience Caldicot Castle is smaller compared to other castles, but what I appreciated the most is that it has plenty of benches and restrooms inside, making it very convenient for visitors. A great spot to relax and explore!
