Museum | Borgonuovo | Emilia-Romagna | Italy

The "Capèla di Mòort" in Borgonuovo, a district of Piuro in Lombardy, is a significant monument that commemorates the devastating catastrophe of September 4, 1618. On this day, a massive landslide disaster occurred, destroying the historic Piuro and claiming the lives of approximately 1,000 people. The chapel was built in 1662 to honor the victims.

Located near the Acquafraggia Waterfalls, the chapel was restored in 2019 to preserve its historical significance. Today, the "Capèla di Mòort" serves as a memorial and place of remembrance for the tragedy of 1618, and is an important cultural landmark in the region.
