Fornace ROMANA di ARENZANO

The Fornace Romana di Arenzano is an important archaeological site in Arenzano, Liguria, which was accidentally discovered in 2023. During a traffic jam at the A10 highway interchange, a passerby, Giovanni Battista Damonte, noticed unusual ground changes and discovered remains of a Roman brick kiln. This discovery was confirmed by the Soprintendenza Archeologia Belle Arti e Paesaggio for the city of Genoa and the province of La Spezia.

The Fornace Romana di Arenzano is one of the few known Roman brick kilns in Liguria. Its discovery offers valuable insights into the Roman construction industry and the local economy of the region.
