The "Museo della Cultura Contadina di Colico" is an ethnographic museum in Colico, Province of Lecco, dedicated to preserving and presenting the rural culture and traditions of the region. It was founded in 2007 on the initiative of the Centro Italiano Femminile of Colico, to convey knowledge about the life of the rural population until a few decades ago.

Collections and Exhibitions

The museum is divided into two floors:

First floor: Here, a traditional living environment is reconstructed, providing insights into the domestic life of the rural population.

Lower floor: This floor houses collections documenting various aspects of rural life:

Agriculture: Tools and equipment for agriculture, livestock farming, winemaking, and cereal cultivation.

Crafts: Exhibits on leather processing, blacksmithing, and wool processing.

Women's work: Objects for spinning and tailoring.

Public services and trade: Items from schools, post offices, and shops.

In addition, research work documents intangible aspects of rural culture, such as dialects, proverbs, poems, nursery rhymes, and prayers.

Educational and Cultural Offerings

The museum regularly organizes events, workshops, and exhibitions to keep the cultural heritage of the region alive and accessible to the public. Special emphasis is placed on collaboration with schools to pass on knowledge about rural culture to younger generations.

È un piccolo museo molto ben tenuto, con tanti bei ricordi del tempo passato. Situato a Colico Alto . Aperto solo la domenica pomeriggio. Entrata con offerta libera. Attualmente è presente in loco la mostra internazionale di mail art "Tempus Fugit"
