Museo "Come Eravamo"
Museum | Borgomanero | Piemonte | Italy
The Museo Etnografico "Come Eravamo" in Borgomanero, Piedmont, Italy, was founded in 1992 in the former Palazzo Bono in "Santa Cristina". It was established by the "Gruppo per la Civiltà Agricola Locale" to preserve and make accessible the extensive collection of Dr. Dino Cerutti and other local enthusiasts.
Collections and Exhibitions
The museum offers an authentic reconstruction of typical rural environments, spread across a gallery and five rooms. Visitors can admire furniture, clothing, jewelry, and household items from bygone eras. Particularly impressive is the replica of a classroom. In addition, numerous tools, historical photographs, as well as religious devotional images and objects of the Oblates are on display. Recently, a winery was opened, illustrating the various stages of wine production through explanatory panels.
Educational Offerings and Events
The museum regularly organizes cultural events, including celebrations for International Women's Day, where songs, poems, and memories of the role of women in rural life in the past are presented.
Access and Visit
The museum is accessible to the public on the first Sunday of every month and can be visited by groups and schools by appointment.
