The waiter was super kind and helpful, made us feel as if we were at home. The food was ok, but nothing special. We were there in winter, and is was quite cold inside. I understand sometimes you have to wait longer for the meal, but the waiting time of almost 1.5 hour was a bit too long.

Accogliente, il titolare anche molto Accogliente. Il menu è un po' ristretto, consigliato confrontarsi con il personale per avere aggiunte e variazioni. Costo nella norma, così come la quantità di cibo nel piatto. Forse eccedono un po' con l'aglio a mio gusto

Cibo buono anche se non giustifica il prezzo. Proprietario estremamente gentile e disponibile ma pessima, pessima, pessima la chef che si siede in sala tossendo ed insultando il cameriere davanti ai clienti. Andare al ristorante non è solo mangiare ciò che c'è nel piatto, ma è la convivialità che vi gira intorno. Atmosfera rovinata da questa persona maleducata.

Premesso che il cibo non è male, ma siamo arrivati alle 20,00, abbiamo ordinato due antipasti e due primi, dopo un’ora arrivano i primi e gli antipasti si sono dimenticati, il titolare ,arrampicandosi sugli specchi, visto che avevamo mandato indietro i piatti, e’ venuto al tavolo cercando mille scuse e comunque ci ha convinto a consumare i primi visto che erano già pronti e per scusarsi ha portato un assaggio di inalata di mare che non ha messo nel conto.
Detto questo un consiglio, aiutate la cuoca anche perché è brava e se tra un po’ di tempo tornerò a Lucca ci riprovo.

This was the best meal I've had in Italy! I wasnt expecting it to find it in Lucca but I was lucky. The restaurant is such a gem! The owner is very sweet and inviting. He cares about all of his customers and offers them delicious specials with fresh ingredients. The pistachio pasta was soooo good and the portion is big enough. Highly recommend to visit it for the best food in Tuscany!

Posto molto carino e anche personale super gentile. Mi spiace ma il cibo un po’ deludente. Verdure surgelate annacquate come anche la pasta al ragù. Anche il pane delle bruschette un po’ posso. Ribollita buona. Purtroppo nel menù mancavano molti piatti.

Ik schrijf eigenlijk nooit een review, maar dit was zo’n slechte ervaring dat ik er iets over wilde zeggen. Wij komen inmiddels 20 jaar in Italië maar zoiets heb ik nog niet eerder meegemaakt. We kregen een tafel buiten want binnen was alles vol, prima! Het duurde een uur voor we onze pasta kregen. We hadden een pasta met ragout en een pasta op 3 verschillende wijzen. Alles smaakte hetzelfde (bechamelsaus) en de pasta was klef en doorgekookt.
Vervolgens zagen we een half uur lang niemand meer. Ik ben zelf naar binnen gegaan om te betalen en tot mijn grote verbazing kwam er een persoon met koksmuts de keuken uit en zette zo een bord in de magnetron die achter de toonbank staat. Iedere Italiaan zou een hartverzakking krijgen als ze dat zouden zien.
Het was 16 jaar geleden dat we in Lucca waren geweest. Mijn mening is dat het Venezia 2.0 is geworden waar men een soort film setting creëert waar de Engels en Duits sprekende toerist een diner kan nuttigen. Erg zonde voor zo’n mooie stad.
Maar goed voor ieder wat wils, ons zullen ze er niet meer snel zien!

This place was amazing! We went there as a group of three vegetarians and one vegan. The vegan entree was a pasta with a mixed vegetable sauce that had an incredible depth of flavour - one of those meals that you remember. Plenty of options for vegetarians; and thoughtful, warm service. Highly recommend!

Tagliata buonissima, sia per la qualità della carne sia per la cottura, ad un prezzo più che ragionevole. La cosa veramente eccezionale è rappresentata, tuttavia, dalla gentilezza e dalla disponibilità del sig. Michele, che incarnano un ideale di tempi passati che pensavo fosse ormai perduto, ma che fortunatamente vive ancora in persone come lui.

The owner and the waiter were so sweet, literally made us smile. I ordered the gluten free salmon vodka sauce and it was incredible. Not to mention the home made bread was delicious. Worth a visit

Wat een ervaring! De liefde voor goed eten was 100% te proeven. De saltimbocca en tiramisu waren ongeëvenaard. De eigenaar was gepassioneerd en prettig aanwezig. De ambiance was klein en authentiek. Klasse.

What a great place to eat.
Michael is the perfect host and Sam was the perfect waiter. Seeing to our needs attentively and efficiently. Never having been to Tuscany before, Michael explained the different items on the menu and each we had was excellent.
I can recommend the roast chicken, the catch of the day (sea bass), the vodka and salmon penne, as well as the antipasti platters to start.
There is a large selection of restaurants in Lucca and whereas I can't compare this with all of them, it felt the most genuine of all the traditional restaurants in town.
Certainly a place to go if you want to feel welcome.

Un des meilleurs restaurant où j’ai manger. Les personnes sont très sympa, il y en a pour tout les goûts. J’ai trouvé l’endroit fort plaisant. Les serveurs parlaient aussi plusieurs langues ce qui a permis de bien pouvoir communiquer. En bref je conseille vivement l’endroit!

A wonderful and family friendly restaurant in Lucca. All food is made to order so not a place to go if you’re in a rush but they helped keep three kids under the age of five happy, provided a great high chair for the littlest and the owner even cut fruit for one ‘off the menu’. The food itself was divine - fresh and flavorful and the service outstanding. After days of pizza and pasta the Tuscan soup hit the spot. There were vegetarian options as well as meat and seafood. The sweet owner even offered us adults limoncello and the little one candy on the house. If we ever come back to town we will definitely dine again.
