Elegant setting. Pasta dishes were of a very high quality. Wine offered by the glass were good. Price is higher than perhaps other places but is worth it.

Bellissima scoperta. Un luogo lontano dalla confusione del centro di Lucca , un ambiente di gran gusto in antico palazzo. Un pranzo di grande semplicità e qualità, ciò che mia moglie ed io cerchiamo sempre. Il servizio è stato curatissimo, ad opera di due Signorine estremamente gentili e disponibili.a pranzo e’ servito un menù snack, ma molto gustoso.
Pubblico le foto dei nostri piatti: insalata Cesar ed insalata Vegana, gustosissime, in via eccezionale a pranzo, ci han preparato il baccalà’ su letto di ceci, ottimo, e delle buonissime verdure pastellate. Per finire, biscottini al burro deliziosi.Ottime le birre artigianali. Prezzo in linea con il contesto e la qualità

De porties vind ik aan de kleine kant voor wat je betaald, het eten wat je kreeg was wel erg lekker. Verder moest je €3 pp betalen om te mogen zitten (zagen we later op de rekening). Personeel is wat traag maar erg gastvrij.

I’m so very confused as to why the rating here is so low. I stayed at the hotel here in Lucca, Italy for a week and ate here for a few meals… I LOVED what I ordered…. The pistachio pesto with tuna tartare and fresh tagliatelle was wonderful… the local Lucca ravioli stuffed with meat with the ragù was exceptionally delicious… you really could taste the nuance of flavors in the sauce… the sofrito stood out… not just tossed in some tomato purée. The pasta was made fresh. The chef was clearly skilled. If you’re into espresso, they have and use an original espresso machine from 1917!
I’m not sure why some reviews are saying it’s expensive. Ingredient quality is high, portions are typical, presentation is beautiful, experience is nice. Virtually Every restaurant in Italy has coperto…. Plus it is 2022, you can look at the prices before you choose to dine!

Loved it! Good variety of food. Prices weren’t bad. Waiters spoke great English. Every dish we tried over the week we stayed was fantastic. Big windows and nice place to watch out over the square while eating.

3 euro pp copperta. The salad mista was served bone dry - I had to ask for oil and vinegar and dress it myself. The burger and fries were ok and the negroni was good. Staff were mostly friendly, but we wish we had chosen somewhere else for lunch.

Really good food, even though a tad on the expensive side.... unfortunately spoiled by unnecessary & unjustified additional charges on top of the already healthy prices. 4 euros for a small platter of bread pieces, and then taken away to be replenished before we had even finished them for another 4 euros! This is the one and only time we have ever been charged for bread, in Italy.
Also a cover charge of 3 euros per person!
Very disappointing. We were all going to sing their praises and tip well, but it seems they already charged the tip, and then some, and spoiled the experience.
Won't be going back there on our regular trips to Lucca.

Ristorante che ci prova, ma senza riuscirci…
Siamo stati a pranzo, eravamo gli unici clienti in sala (6 persone) e non appena siamo entrati abbiamo specificato più volte che eravamo di fretta e che avevamo solo 1 ora per mangiare (tempo più che ragionevole per un pranzo).
Servizio tutto sommato buono, le due ragazze in sala sempre sorridenti e cordiali, in cucina però regnava la disorganizzazione, dopo quasi 45 minuti di attesa abbiamo ricevuto gli antipasti in tempi diversi, alcuni di noi avevano già finito il piatto ed altri non avevano nemmeno ancora ricevuto il piatto. A quel punto eravamo veramente di fretta, tanto che abbiamo dovuto mangiare i primi in 5 minuti. Tutto questo dopo aver ripetuto più e più volte che avevamo molta fretta.
Tutto sommato i piatti buoni ma non valgono il prezzo. Antipasto: insalata di polpo croccante con patate viola, era più un tentacolo croccante messo sopra a delle patate tagliate a cubetti e condite con olio e sale, non c’era un legame tra polpo e la patata. Primo, ravioli di pesce spada con crema di zucchine, bella fretta di preparare il piatto dev’essere sfuggita la padella in mantecatura allo chef, i ravioli avevano un leggero retrogusto di burro bruciato ed una leggera croccantezza, segno che sono stati lasciati un po’ troppo a mantecare dopo la cottura

Arrived at the Grand Universe Hotel on Christmas day 2021. We enjoyed dinner at the Legacy Restaurant. The service, atmosphere and food were all excellent. A small intimate space with first class service was matched with deliciously prepared food. I had pasta with wild boar ragu and roasted salmon. Both were incredibly delicious. My husband had pasta with porcini mushrooms and a nice fillet mignon steak. A memorable Christmas dinner. Highly recommend the restaurant and hotel.
