It was ok. We came here from near Liverpool as the wildlife park is dog friendly. As my 15 year old Shar Pei has a brain tumour, we are trying to give her as many new experiences as possible.
The reality of the zoo being dog friendly seemed to be significantly different to our expectations. It does go through where dogs can't go on the website. Before going it didn't feel that restrictive. However, when you're there, dogs can basically walk around the paths.
Please don't get me wrong, for the welfare of the animals at the zoo, I fully understand it. The last thing anyone would want is a dog trying to get to one of the animals barking and growling; Causing the animals distress. I just probably wouldn't have advertised it as dog friendly. That or instead of saying where dogs can't go, explain that dogs are allowed to walk the paths which lead past enclosures. They are not allowed indoors at all. Not in the restaurant, not in the shop, not in any of the exhibits that are indoors.
What we managed to see was mostly good. My partner and I took turns minding our dear old best friend to see the reptile house, the insects and the bats. (The bat house was a huge disappointment).
With our local zoo being Chester Zoo, we may just be spoilt with the exhibits there being at such a high level. However, ticket prices at Chester Zoo are significantly higher to support that.
To sum it up, small children seemed to be loving the place. The dogs who were there (and there was a lot) all seemed more interested in meeting each other. I heard 1 bark all day and it wasn't aggressive. It was a young Dachshund. I don't think I need to say more there for the dog lovers....
Go here if there is no other choice or you're wanting a different experience for your dog. Like I said, it was nothing more, nothing less. It was ok.

My son and I had a great time at the junior zoo keepers experience. Helen and Harriet were fantastic guides showing us all the behind the scenes things that go on in the zoo and explaining all about the animals. We were treated like vips all day. Truly memorable experience and well worth the wait. Thank you very much 😊

Lovely day out for all the family, accessible for all. Pathways easy to navigate and wide enough to pass other visitors. Hoist changing facility definitely a welcome addition

Such a fantastic day out- can’t wait to go again. So many wonderful animals and plenty to do, the train ride in particular is lovely when children are flagging. Easily get your steps in! We went on a very sunny day so it was glorious, not sure how geared up it is for inclement or wet conditions.

I love thus place. Animals look very happy and relaxed. Madagaskar is my favorite part because some animals are running 'free'. There is a destaurant (not my type of food) and ice cream shop and picnic area. Lovely little train you can take to travel all around the park.
It is a all day visit so make sure to get picnic and all stuff you may need for a day trip. Parking is convenient located.

Came here on January 12th and the park is brilliant. The enclosures and animals are all very impressive and there's plenty to see and do. Special shout out to Abbie L for being super helpful and friendly, highly recommend to anyone who loves animals, or anybody with kids as well.

What a wonderful zoo, we had a great time walking round, we try to get a few times a year when staying at the local caravan club.
It is great we can take our well behaved dogs too.
I now watch the webcams now and again which are fantastic.

Beautiful zoo/picnic place. Preferable to visit during summer for the weather and also enjoy the walk.
They allow pet dogs which is nice.
As a suggestion they could have some different navigation guidance as you can opt for different paths to see the animals. It really helps in ensuring you don't miss anything

Great day with my friends kids. Didn't manage to do everything as so much there. Needs water fountains as queues at kiosks are long to just get water refills. Train was good fun :-)
Visited again several years later and now doing a season ticket as I have a granddaughter. Still a fab day out :-)

Great place to go for a few hours of relaxing and chatting and looking at animals. Dogs welcome in the park, although there are quite a few indoor and walkthrough areas now that they can't go in. Food not brilliant.

This was a sudden planned trip to the wildlife park and I must say that I didn't regret my visit, it was superb, the whole facility is so well maintained and gives a feel of actual interaction with all the beautiful animals , the park has so many different sections which will keep you engrossed throughout , I would surely recommend a multi visit 👌👌👌

Not a big fan of zoos, but was pleasantly surprised by our visit today. Most animals had good space in their enclosures. Rhinos seemed very happy running around in the mud. Very diverse selection of animals. Loved the giraffe viewing platform. Good for getting kids out and walking without complaining. Playground is an added bonus. We stayed about 3 hours. I love dogs, but it seems unnecessary to allow them here. I saw them barking at tortoises, wolverines, and other animals.

Disabled visitors cannot be accompanied by a carer unless they pay for another full priced ticket..? Crazy decision to allow dogs, we pay a premium to get away from them and see other wildlife but yet here they are another attraction now catering to the dog cult. Will be taking our money to other sites that don't risk their animals distress from barking and foul dog mess everywhere
