Very interesting castle. Mostly in ruin but the keep is in good repair and the people in the visitors centre are really nice.

As you approach the castle, it doesn't look too big, but trust me, it is.
You get the most amazing views, and there is information about what and who it had been made for all over the site.

The castle itself is nice but we didn't get the chance to see all of it because.. it's paid entrance (!!) We come from Knaresborough where a castle is for everyone to enjoy, no entrance fee. Businesses around make money from visitors, people enjoy basking in the sun, sitting around, families and friends get together... We were hugely disappointed by a fee to Conisbrough castle and refused to pay or go in. £9 entry fee is beyond ridiculous. Thank you but no thank you

Beautiful castle in stunning village setting, loved it hear as a kid and still do as an adult was sadly closed at the time I arrived but walking round it is still a nice experience

English heritage owned place. Called on a weekend to visit, very friendly staff in the centre, decent exhibition and well kept ruins and keep. Good information on life in the castle. Interactive displays and projections.
