The Oasis Hotel. Great rooms. Lovely staff. The best Chinese and Indian food around cooked here. Dine in or out. This place is very quirky and like no other hotel. In a good way.

I was put in the oasis by the council as an emergency accommodation. Paul was a lovely guy who showed us around, the place really needs work to be done. The rooms have an unpleasant smell, in my sink were cornflakes blocking the sink (previous must have washed their bowl in there) the main for me were the locks on the doors. It wasn't explained to me that they aren't like any normal hotel room, if you use the card to open the door the lock stays open. So I've gone to sleep, gone out etc not knowing my door was unlocked. To top this off once I realised this I made sure both doors (had 2 rooms) were fully locked one day I went out and returned to both doors not needing the card and we're fully open, with all our stuff in. I mean it's ok if you want a quick head down in the area. There are residents there with problems and you do hear them talking etc at night.

Very nice place to stay convenient for Old Harlow train station to London not far from M11 junction 7 or Junction 7A to either Cambridge or London

Never used it but a relative lives opposite. At one time it was a virtual doss house, so it has been improved. In the old days 'residents' knowing the other neighbours worked in daytime used to mail order goods on approval using their addresses, then nip across the road to collect the parcels during the day. As I say, it can only have improved.

It's an outdated hotel but the beds were comfy, TV had tons of channels. The shower has wonderful great pressure. It's in the outskirts but you can walk to old Harlow in 20 minutes or to Tesco metro. The canal is a 10 minute walk. Train station is a two minute walk right next door. Friendly staff.

The Oasis (drug den) hotel has to be the absolute worst hole in a roadside that I've ever been too. Room 13 is just a throwback from the 70's and I'd rather sleep in a sheep pen in a sleeping bag wet but content, that there.

Other reviews are exaggerated! Granted, it wasn’t the cleanest, but it wasn’t too bad. Other guests were nice, staff were pleasant. Food was varied. Amazing for a budget hotel.
