8 of us attended Ivy in Harrogate on Saturday 1 March for my partners birthday. The burgers were bland and overcooked and the steaks tough and overpriced. (My daughter cooked me a better one when I got home which cost a 1/4 of the price) Wine also overpriced and one bottle has to be returned as in my opinion it was undrinkable. The bill was reduced by £100 but the restaurant is over rated and I will not be returning. Advice to others would be to attend many of the smaller restaurants in Harrogate were I found the food and wine to be so much better.

First time in the ivy the gentleman at the door very pleasant game me a table by the entrance I hand t booked I asked for a soup which I was told only one choice no mention of bread so asked for bread which. Was white dry but on bill said toasted .soup was pumpkin was nice .a pot of earl grey tea it was a tea bag. Not loose tea a gorgeous heavy tea pot , I asked can I have a cake and was told they only serve sweets so got my bill the staff were polite the atmosphere was good what I saw at front door but enjoyed the company of two young adults next to me thank you ivy for the experience and I know you are not a cafe but soup larger choices different breads with soup Please excite me next time thank you

Very pleasant surroundings but seems like the outdoor area is the place that service forgot.
Had the salt and pepper squid which was nothing short of revolting. If that wasn’t frozen and pre seasoned squid then I’ll eat my hat, but in that case, the person that cooked it needs another job. Chewy and disgusting.
The plant based curry was ok, as was the wife’s mushroom pasta. But that said, OK is not good enough for what is meant to be a top restaurant.
We won’t be going there again.

I came for a valentines day meal and the experience was exceptional. The food was lovely and was such an experience with the visual aspects too! The music was absolutely lovely, there was a live band of violins and a cello (i think). I felt like I was in a period film! Our waiter (Tom) was so so lovely. He was very attentive and very sweet to chat to as well

Great service, the food was beautiful, we loved the shrimp and salmon burger... Delicious. Good value and plenty of food! The starters were huge.

Really nice deco, food and service as expected, large portions. The al a cart 2 course offer is good value but obviously check that there's something you like otherwise it's a little more from the normal menu but a much larger choice

We had the winter menu. The starter was lovely but our wine didn't arrive until the main course. When the main course arrived the sides didn't until we had nearly finished. Staff said they would remove them from bill. The deserts we ordered were not a available so we were offered alternatives, which was fine. Bill came and they knocked off some items we didn't get. Still added £15 service charge! We got that removed. Overall I would say below average food at pretentious prices. Was supposed to be a special night but felt like a chain pub on a bad day

We had brunch to celebrate a birthday. The food was good - eggs royale with just the right amount of hollandaise - and a delightful complimentary pud for the birthday girl. We were served by Rania who was efficient, funny and polite. An enjoyable visit.

Having been to several Ivy restaurant I always expect the best service and they always deliver. However...
We had a table of 6, we waited 30 minutes before a drinks order was taken and I had to get up to grab someone to come over. The waitress arrive and just not enjoying her day...no smile no rapport.
Normally they are checking on you, refilling wine glasses etc. But again this didn't happen and again I had to chase someone down then had to chase once again when it took so long to bring a bottle of wine.
Table clearance was also an issue we sat with a table full of dirty plates for 15 mins .... again had to chase.
It felt like any other average restaurant last night and I found it a huge disappointment sadly and rather annoying due to the 5 family members never having been before.

Definitely be back, we were a little reluctant after seeing lots of negative reviews for service and value, all totally wrong!! Food, service and value for money all exceptional!! Ten stars to the lovely Millie who looked after us tonight 🤩 two courses of delicious food including a glass of Prosecco for under £25, absolute no brainer. The shepherds pie and mushroom and truffle linguine were absolutely delicious, wish I had the recipe to replicate them myself, followed by sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream, OMG, don’t hesitate to book

Called twice and they can’t even be bothered to answer the phone to answer questions. Same lies saying high call volumes and referring you to the website. Acting more like a utility company than a restaurant.
If you can’t be bothered to talk to customers then you don’t get my money ! You failed before we even got started.

A lovely place to visit for that extra special occasion or to spoil yourself or your loved ones, the decor is tastefully decorated and the food from starters mains and desserts are first class, the staff service is excellent, you are made to feel very special

What a 1st time experience for my birthday in December 2024. My partner and son took me for my surprise birthday meal. OMG we loved every minute of it, from the entrance, watching the live singers to having drinks at the bar. The bar staff were so friendly . Then we were escorted to our seats, we were well cared for by staff (especially Ryan, so knowlegable an attentive. We had starters and mains and i was given a luxury desert for my birthday. The food was amazing and the room themed to the occasion. The food is so filling. Thank you so much for my birthday meal, i was telling everyone they need to visit the Ivy in Harrogate as its fabulous. I'll definitely be going back .👌

We visited for New year’s eve and sadly we had a terrible experience. We both ordered a fillet steak for main and both our steaks were the chewiest steaks we’ve ever eaten, it tasted like a terrible quality rump, nothing like a fillet, i saw a lady on a table nearby send back her steak for chewiness so it wasn’t just ours. My partner also ordered a medium steak and it was basically blue. After we mentioned this we were offered a free drink which i accepted but i told them i don’t drink alcohol, and they then gave me alcohol. Finally to top it off I was given the wrong dessert. I will say the staff were trying their best and i understand how busy new year’s eve is but given the prices charged this was not the experience we were expecting and won’t be going back.

Went for a special breakfast which unfortunately was not. It was a cold morning and we arrived at 09:15. There were 2 of us and we were seated at a small round table. We had coffee served in a pot which was only warm at best. I asked for sugar when the coffee arrived but had to ask again some 10 minutes later when none arrived. We ordered white toast and brown toast arrived so had to wait for white to turn up. The poached eggs were luke warm and certainly not straight out of hot water. My wife's vegetarian breakfast was also not hot. I also had a yoghurt dish which was superb but I can hardly describe it as cooking !. The table was cram packed with the items we ordered and the server struggled to find places to put things. A table nearby had the same problem and a glass was knocked off the table and smashed. It unfortunately made you feel hemmed in and not a pleasant dining experience. Just for info I hate the servers repeatedly saying "No worries" when I say thank you !
