It was a good time out. Some great exhibits there. Brilliant for children and child groups. Loads of information. The ground floor old world streets were really good. The 1st floor although loads of items and information didn't have much atmosphere. I feel that as the museum is in and original very old building they missed an opportunity to show the old equipment set up in a victorian style operation theatre or other an old style ward. I was hoping for a little more of an immersive experience. There were some areas that looked this way, but closed off to general visitors due to school groups.

Quite disappointed as an adult visitor, it leans towards school children. Quite small and unless you like reading the whole place takes around 30 mins to get around....at a slow pace. I wouldn't recommend visiting unless it's a school trip.

Expensive for the exhibits on display. I personally wouldn’t recommend visiting. Requires investment.

Starts off with a bang and afterwards is incredibly dull unless you’re a major medicine nerd. Even if you are (I studied history of medicine and my partner is a nurse), it’s not particularly engaging in the way information is presented. It’s a lot of reading. £12 entry and a lot less engaging than free entry museums that are around. Apparently this was much more fun and interactive back in the day with the Florence Nightingale style experiences.

I love this place. We frequently visit sparks & our little one has so much fun. Real great community vibes whenever I'm there & the late events they do are always interesting, engaging & informative. The young woman who works in the gift shop is also a pleasure. I always feel welcomed & look forward to coming back <3

Great experience. No need to buy tickets in advance. Easy access by public transport. Based in hospital grounds . Food and gift shop reasonable prices.

I have experienced both the museum with my child and booked and utilised the community designated space for an event. Both experiences were outstanding! Staff are all wonderful, inviting helpful and approachable. Space is comfortable, clean well managed and spacious.

Everyone should visit this museum if possible. The history of medicine is too important to miss.

The exhibition is excellent, but the smell is really bad. I guess it may be part of medicine smell or on purpose for demonstrating the poor condition in the past? I think it should have a warning to people who just finished or want to have food. There are some workshops for kids. I guess it may be good because the exhibition setting eyesight is quite high, more for adults. The level of knowledge is also technical, not easy to be understood. For normal people, it may be expensive although the ticket allows you to come for a year. It may be more recommended to look for chance, e.g. some workshops or performance, to get in for a look. To the museum, for long run, I think renting out for some lectures or film playing may be good tactics utilising the place as well as promoting the place.

I came here with my service user who loves learning about medicine. The staff were lovely and offered to hold our bags in their office as we had a suitcase. A ticket lasts for a year which makes it more worth the price plus carers got in free and they offer discounts for students & NHS workers. Our favourite part was the downstairs interactive area going through what it used to be like to live before modern medicine for different people. Although I agree with some other comments it might not be something you go back to often, it was a lovely museum.

Beautiful building. Confused by the vision though. Seemed to be good for children but personally I wouldn’t have taken my children there. The theatre scene of the young girl having her leg removed was a bit much for small children and the place where the animals were killed also a bit scary for young children. The building is so beautiful and think more could have been made of that, restored old hospital wards would have been impressive. The actors could have actually been more like Victorian doctors, nurses and patients not annoying and loud. Enjoyed most parts but could easily be so much better. Food nice in the cafe and staff friendly.

I love this museum! We went last year and had such a blast that we had to visit again. There's a great room with gorgeous hand-painted apothecary jars, and a room with a walk through of how medicine has evolved. My absolute favourite part of the museum was the recreation of a victorian street. You pick a person's card at the entrance and find out how they are affected by all sorts of ailments. It's really well done and grabs your imagination.

A really informative day learning about life in Victorian Leeds, the history of medicine, to modern day techniques. As someone that’s worked in the NHS, this was super interesting! I have visited over 10 years ago and really impressed with the changes to the museum. There’s also a coffee shop by the entrance where you can get a hot cup of Yorkshire tea! The admission ticket also gives you 12 months access at no extra charge!!!

I had higher expectations from this place. But it seems more geared towards children - in fact very good if you have children. But a little too basic for adults. It's good that you can buy a ticket that gives you annual access. I ended up buying two so I can come back with a friend in future. The girl in the coffee shop was lovely and attentive. Staff on the front door were less knowledgeable. The building is also a sight in itself.

Visited the museum with work and its a fabulous place to visit. The staff when booking were very helpful and accommodating. We didn't get all the way around the museum so a second visit is needed which our service users are looking forward to. The interaction within the museum is really good and easy to participate in. I would definitely recommend for a visit to family and friends and the also the entrance fee of £11:95 is worth it.
